Once again it was an up and down night, between my Recliner and Bed. Unfortunately, I spent more time in my Recliner. I did try to even it out a bit, by finishing the night between the sheets.
Breakfast was back to the Snack Bars and Yogurt Cups so as to not overload our stomachs. When we first looked outside, the sky was full of Clouds, and the forecast was calling for Rain. We settled in at our Computers for the remainder of the morning. By the time we were ready to head out the door at noon, all the Clouds had disappeared. What had not disappeared was the 36 F (2 C) temperature, that felt colder due to the Northwest Winds.
Going out the rear entrance to our building, anyone could see that the Recycle Bins had not been emptied.
We stopped at a Tim Horton’s coffee shop to take advantage of their Crispy Chicken Wraps for lunch. For the second time, Kathy could not finish her Wrap, so brought the rest home for an afternoon snack.
Afterwards,
we had to go to Hearing
Life
in Tecumseh
for Kathy’s Six-Month Appointment.
They make certain that both Hearing
Aides
are working properly, by making certain there was no Wax
in the tubes and recalibrating them
with the Computer.
Kathy said they sounded like the first day that she got them.
While inside, my Phone started ringing, but by the time I answered, he had hung up. It was Sorough, the young man with a Bad Attitude that I had mentored while working at Windsor Feedscrew. I figured that he would call back, making it Safer to drive home.
With the high cost of Gasoline, we continued our errands by following my usual errand circle. Taking the E.C. Rowe Expressway back into Windsor, we were able to see the progress that has been made on the new Banwell Road Overpass. The Contractors, have been closing the Expressway every night so they can position the Beams, without endangering anyone that would drive under under the suspended loads. The price tag for this is only Seventeen Million Dollars.
When we stopped at Guardian Storage to get our Mail the other day, the Box was empty. Today, there was quite a handful to bring home.
After dropping Kathy off at the front entrance to our building, I parked the Car before going in the rear entrance. That gave me the chance to see that the Recycle Bins had been emptied while we were gone. As soon as I walked in the Apartment, I brought our Recycle Containers downstairs. With Glass Jars and Bottles, I separate them into different Bins so they remain intact.
Finally, able to sit down. I had barely turned my Computer on, when Sorough called back. After leaving Windsor Feedscrew, he returned to St. Claire College to further become a Welder. Once he graduated, he has held a number of Welding Positions, but as he named them to me, I knew why they let him go. There are Companies out there that expect you to know how to run modern equipment, that they don’t know how to run and will not train you the Specialized Jobs. Others wait until you are about to complete your Probationary Time, then let you go, so they don’t have to pay you a higher rate. I recognized Six of the Eight Companies, that often do that their workers.
Since our Heat is now controlled from an Office in Toronto, we had to open our Balcony Door in order to stop sweating. The “6 o’clock Local News” showed the Weather Roller Coaster will continue for the next week.
We were finally starting to feel hungry, so we had Macaroni and Cheese for supper.
We then watched a few episodes of “Law and Order, Special Victims Unit”.
Not sure what we will be doing tomorrow.
