After setting the Alarm last night, to be certain I'd be on time for my morning appointment, I spent most of the night awake. I did take note, that to ease the Shoulder Pain, I simply had to jam my left fist against it. That also meant jamming my left elbow into the mattress, in order to maintain the pressure but it worked.
Noticing that I did not sleep too well, should make you realize that neither did Kathy. When I tried to wake her this moening, she rebuffed my urging for her to get up. I had my breakfast snack, before getting cleaned up to go. Somewhere in there, Kathy practically jumped out of bed, realizing what I had been saying.
During that time we could hear the Wind gusting outside as it rattled our Balcony Railing. A quick check of The Weather Network showed 19 MPH wind gusting to 38 MPH. Though we wore our Jackets, the Wind made the 54 F (12 C) feel much cooler.
For the last couple of weeks, we have been able to drive across the City on Riverside Drive. Today, as we came to Jefferson Avenue, we were again forced to follow the Construction Detour. We arrived with minutes to spare for my appointment at Advanced Rehabilitation Center (ARC), but there was no getting in early. The place was packed with new Patients and a new Physiotherapist Assistant.
With my Shoulder feeling so good when they had the Tens Machine on and the treatment room was so full, that when the Timer went off I silenced it before the Therpist could hear it. When they realized that I was still sitting there enjoying the Deep Pulsing Massage they knew my problem was worse than the original diagnosis. Since the Physiotherapist could not extend my Treatment any longer, they asked if I have a Tens Machine at home. I used to years ago, but lost track of it when we sold our House. While I did the physical part of the Therapy, she did some research and found that I could get the same machines they use on Amazon at a reasonable price. She also sent a recommendation to my Doctor, that I get more intensive Medical Treatment.
Heading towards home, we stopped at Burger King to use a Coupon and have a tasty lunch.
Back at our Apartment, we got caught up on our morning E-reading, before I commected on Amazon. I will have my own Tens Machine on Monday. If I went through my Family Doctor to get a prescription, then get it okayed through my Health Care Insurance, ir might arrive by January and cost Ten Times as much.
The temperature had risen to 73 F (22.7 C) but the Wind was still blowing just as hard as it had since this morning.
We were soon headed out to meet our son Kevin and daughter-in-law Mellisa for Fish Friday at the Royal Legion Branch 594. Mellisa had to work until 6:00 so we were going to meet at 6:30. This was the first time we have been able to visit in a long time. Throughout our meal, the conversation never stopped. As per usual we got caught up on what is happening at home and health issues. It was just after 8:00, when we said our goodbyes with Hugs and Handshakes.
Kathy was too tired to watch the "11 o'clock Local News" which was just as well, since there wasn't much to our benefit.
Last night and again tonight, while writing the Blog my Eyes really started to get sore, even though I have Prescribed Computer Glasses. I had to find a way to complete the task, without the discomfort. My solution was to wear my over the counter, Nighttime Driving Glasses. The Pain completely disappeared and everything was in focus.
We'll see what happens tomorrow.
