Over Six Years.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

After the starter sleep in my Recliner, I was happy to sleep the rest of the night in Bed comfortably. Last night I mentioned a Planned Visit for this morning. I didn't want to Jinx it by setting the Alarm, so just hoped we'd wake naturally on time. I woke to see 7:16 on my side table, but before I could move, I blinked. I hate when that happens because the Clocks have a bad habit of changing the time on me. Refocusing the clock then read 8:35, which meant it was scramble time.

After our Breakfast Juice so we could take our morning medications and a Yogurt Cup, we quickly dressed and were out the door.

Having checked The Weather Network Radar repeatedly since last week, we knew this was going to be the best day for traveling. Our travels only took us across the City, but the travels I was referring to were for our friends crossing the International Border to come for visit. When travelling, it's always better when the weather is clear so you can enjoy your surroundings.

Even though we took our time getting there, we arrived at the Huron Church Road A&W early, only to find the yellow Jeep with no-name aready parked next to the building. Its occupants were slightly surprised when a black Escape pulled up next to them and we started waving. The only other time they had seen us before was with our burgandy F-350 Truck.

Before we went inside Hugs and Handshakes were exchanged. It's been over Six Years since we last saw one another in Quartzsite, Arizona. Tom and Deb from the blog Celebrating the Dance, were fortunate to be able to continue following their retirement dream. It was a little tough finding Campgrounds to stay during Covid, but they managed.

Inside we all ordered breakfast Sandwiches and Coffees. The conversation never stopped the entire time, it was just like it was around the Campfires we enjoyed in the desert. We all talked about changes that have taken place in our lives, not just health issues but our Children and Grands as well.

A little after Two Hours, Tom and Deb remembered they had some grand Children to watch later this afternoon, so it was time for more Hugs and Handshakes, until we meet again.

But First, they had read in so many Blogs about a store known as Canadian Tire and wanted to see one for themselves. Having lived less than Three Hundred Feet from where I stood, in a house that no longer exists, I gave them directions to the nearest outlet, a Quarter Mile away. The best part was the parking lot connected back to Huron Church Road, leading to the Ambassador Bridge.

It was past noon as we headed east. It was too early to head back home and the walls of the Apartment, so I travelled through neighbourhoods that hadn't seen since we were first married. There was no Rush as we finally arrived at Princess Auto. This is similar to Harbor Freight in the US, and they both have things that the other does not. Since Michael's is right next door, I suggested Kathy could go there, but she chose to look around Princess Auto instead.

There were a few things of interest that I recalled seeing in their latest Sale Booklet. It had been some time since we were last there, but I found what I know I will use and they came home with us.

It was nearly 2:30 when we stopped at Wendy's to use a Coupon and have Lupper. Wendy's is the only Fast-Food Chain that allows you to manipulate a Base Coupon and come out with a meal. It helps that Seniors can get Free Soft Drinks or Coffees. That saved us Twelve Dollars off our meal.

Back home, as we tried to get caught up on our Computer reading, we were both struggling to stay awake. We sat talking about our morning visit. The excitement had us wide awake again.

This evening we found a "Murder Mystery" to watch, before the "11 o'clock Local News" came on. Sad to say, it was a violent weekend in Windsor and more Construction Projects are already being planned for next year.

Even with heavy Rain, we'll be getting out tomorrow.

Did you hear the joke about the roof?

Never mind, it’s over your head.
