It didn’t matter that I had taken most of my Nighttime Mickey before going to bed, I just could not sleep soundly, spending most of it tossing and turning. That of course meant I was affecting Kathy’s ability to get a peaceful sleep, but at the same time it was a good thing.
At 7:05 I figured that it was a waste of time and got out of bed. Needing to take a shower I quickly did so then continued with a shave. It was 7:45 when I tried to clean up the basin and the only thing coming from the faucet was the sound of gurgling as Air filled the line.
We had received a 24-Hour Notice as the New Management Company continues to do upgrades, but it did not say the Water would be turned off today. Luckily, I’d filled our Kettle last night. Also lucky was we used Wet Ones through our Fulltiming days, so they again came to our rescue. We counted ourselves fortunate because there are families in our building with school aged children that would have been affected at that time of morning.
Breakfast was a Pastry with our Coffees, that we took to the Computers. Around 8:30 we got a call from the Courier (can’t remember the name) that Amazon hired to deliver our purchase. They were upset that Guardian Storage was closed nearly Two Hours before they attempted to deliver our Package last night. Apparently, they did not read the Special Delivery Message.
At
9:30
John the Building
Maintenance Man
knocked on our door. Bob a Plumber
was there to install a Water
Meter.
It took nearly an
Hour
to complete the task, but when asked about when the Water would be
turned back
on
again, we were told 3:00.
Kathy had planned on staying home but with no Water,
she came with me.
With a few delays I made it to the new Canadian Blood Services location, with just enough time to fill in my Questionnaire for my appointed time. Kathy went to a local Clothing Store to pass some time. She actually saw something that appealed to her, but practically ran out of the store when she saw the Price Tag.
The difference between donating Whole Blood and Plasma is dramatic. The time for the donation was Fifteen Minutes for Whole Blood and over an Hour for Plasma. The time between donations is Eight Weeks for Whole Blood, but only Seven Days if you choose, for Plasma. Kathy sat at the Snack-Bar waiting for me to finish. Today was my 145th Blood Donation.
After a little confusion about what we were going to do this afternoon, we stopped at Arby’s for Reuben Sandwiches for a late lunch.
We
stopped at Guardian
Storage
to collect our
Mail.
No
Package
had been delivered, so we headed over to
Canadian Tire
to pick up some supplies that are cheaper than those
at the
grocery store prices. We were just about out the door when the
Courier
calls
telling me, he can’t deliver our Package
because the new
woman at the
Storage
would not except it. I simply said to leave it inside their door, and
we’d pick it up soon. The young woman knew us both as Richard and Kathy Rousseau but did not know that Kathy is also signed in with a
Hyphenated
Last Name.
She linked our Files together, so this won’t happen again.
We were home by 2:30 and the Water was back on. I tried working on the Computer, but due to not sleeping last night and the stress of the Package Delivery I was getting a bad headache. The next thing I knew it was nearly 5:00 and the headache was gone.
We later shared a Store-Bought Thin-Crust Hawaiian Pizza for supper.
There is still plenty to do tomorrow.
