With
the constant sound of Rain tapping
on the Roof neither of us had any
problems sleeping last night as a fact we were sleeping so soundly it was hard
to get ourselves moving this morning. It was nearly 8:30 when Kathy joined me
downstairs and even with the Rain still
falling the inside of the Trailer was
starting to warm up. (Remember yesterday we were nearly freezing?)
Once
breakfast was over we took a few minutes to check our E-Mails and Comments on
the Blog. All Bloggers experience SPAM but
the one we received this morning showed an Educated
Person that did not know anything about Geography because they expected us to drive to Mumbai, in India to help
feed the starving masses. We are all for helping our fellow human beings but
first their country needs to teach them better work ethics instead of Scamming Others.
Kathy
was reviewing her Gift Lists this morning and found that she had not finished
a few things. She tries to give everyone the same number of Gifts with close to the same Dollar Value. The Lists showed we needed to top off Three
of those Gifts so we had to go to the Bank.
By
10:00 we were headed to Windsor with a list of things to do.
The first was to check for any Mail
at Guardian Storage then go to our Climate Controlled Storage Unit to pick up some Gift Wrap that we left behind on
Thursday.
We
then went to the Bank only to be faced with the Local Cub Scouts putting on their Apple Day Fundraiser. Having gone door
to door back when I was a kid I definitely planned on helping but I’d left all
my change at Home. Promising the Little Guy at the door I’d be back, the Teller inside the Bank smiled when I increased my Withdrawal by a Dollar and told him the reason. Not only did the Little Guy and his Dad standing behind him have smiles on their faces but so did Kathy
when I gave her that Shiny Apple.
Since
it was nearly 11:00 we drove across to Wendy’s to have our lunch off the
Value Menu and we also wanted a Special
Salad to-go. When the Manager heard who it was for, she told me to enjoy
our Meal and pick the Salad up as we were leaving so the Chicken would be Hot.
We
drove across town where I dropped Kathy off at the door of the Windsor Rehabilitation Center because it was still Raining and it was nearing 12:00. She rushed
upstairs to give Vera her fresh Chicken
Salad just as her lunch tray was arriving. Having been there already a
month she had gotten tired of the Hospital Food so her lunch tray went back
untouched. After parking I followed with a Bag
of Books that we brought for Vera to read. She loved every bit of that Salad and cherished the Four Hours we visited.
When
we left the Sun was shining and was
turning the puddles in the parking lot into steam. We made a stop at the nearby
Shoppers Drug Mart to pick up a few supplies including Two more bottles of Vitamins that I missed the other day. We
also walked the Aisles trying to
limber up after having sat most of the afternoon.
We
were about to head for Home when we saw the Dairy Queen sign. We each had one of their freshly cooked $7.00 meal combos that includes
an Entrée, a small amount of Fries, a Soft Drink and an Ice Cream
Sundae. By the time our meals arrived at the table our Tasty Sundaes had disappeared.
When
we arrived back at Wildwood, we were surprised to see Standing Water on the Road and some of the Greens. When we parked at our Site there was Water visible on our Patio.
We left the door open to cool down the inside of the Trailer but before we could turn on our Computers it started to Thunder.
Looking back outside it looked like the Sun
had already set. I barely had the Door
closed when the Rain started
pounding on our roof for the next Two
Hours. The Forecast we saw this
morning had been completely changed.
While
most Canadians will be celebrating Thanksgiving this weekend we’ll be doing it with a little twist tomorrow.

ReplyDeleteI keep reading about people having rain, rain, rain. Here in North Alabama I would love to see some rain. Our pool is so low the fish in it need to soon grow legs and lungs. Happy Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteHow sweet of you to take Vera lunch! Happy Thanksgiving you two!
ReplyDeleteOne of my room-mates at Parkwood Hospital was expecting to go to the Windsor Rehab Centre.
