Our Location today is La Posa South LTVA,
Quartzsite, Arizona, U.S.A.
It’s hard to believe that
I’m able to get an early start at writing the Blog this evening. It must have something to do with the rest of North America moving to Daylight
Savings Time while here in Arizona that didn’t happen.
We slept with our Windows and Vents wide open once again Last
Night though we didn’t have the excitement from the Coyotes like we had late Friday
Night. Being that little bit more relaxed helped the both of us to get a
solid night’s sleep. I was so well rested that I was wide awake by 6:00 Arizona
Time so after getting a few things
ready for breakfast I settled in to read my E-mails and a few of the morning Blogs until the Computer
flashed a message that I was down to Ten
Percent on the Battery.
It was perfect timing as I
shut down Kathy was getting up at 7:30 so we had a wonderful breakfast where we
discussed plans for the next couple of days. As soon as breakfast was over I
shut one Inverter off and turned the
Main Inverter on to charge things up.
Surprisingly the morning temperature here at Quartzsite was only 57 F (14 C) but it was more than thirty degrees warmer then back in McGregor
and we didn’t have the forecasted white coating to put up with.
By 10:00 we’d finished our
normal chores and Kathy had moved on to working on a Décor Change while I headed outside. Even at that early hour being
exposed to the direct Sunlight
robbed you of your energy levels very quickly. Today my plans were to try to
organize the little things that have ended up in multiple containers throughout
the basement.
Even with the Sunshade it was Hot. |
First things first though
in order to cut the heat not only where I was working but inside the Trailer I took the time to install our Sunshade on our Awning. The difference was immediately noticeable but it was still
too hot to work on the sunny side of the trailer. I’d also planned on checking
our Propane Tanks before we head off
on Thursday. I was pleasantly surprised how much cooler it was on the north
side of the trailer in the shade.
Sliced Turkey Sandwich with a Pickle, a Clementine and Pudding for dessert. |
With the Propane Tanks Switched out I started my
sorting until Kathy called me in for lunch. She had made Turkey Sandwiches sliced from the Mini Butterball Turkey we had grilled on the Weber Q the other day. It all tasted great but the inside of the
trailer was like an oven. When I told her how cool it was to the north side of
the trailer she didn’t believe me. I suggested she continue her project in the
cool of the up coming mornings and to come sit by where I was working to cool
off.
Getting things better organized in the shade. |
She finally joined me by
1:00 and couldn’t believe how cool it was compared to inside. We spent the rest
of the afternoon outside together. Kathy was reading her Book and after I finished my sorting for the day I finished my Cryptogram puzzle book. There was a gentle
north breeze that really made it pleasant.

Potato Salad, Sauteed Mushrooms and Baby Back Ribs. |
After 4:30 Kathy went
inside to make a Potato Salad and sautee
some Mushrooms while I grilled some Baby-Back Ribs on the Weber. With the temperature inside the
trailer being 90 F (32 C) as soon as we finished eating
Kathy was about to start the dishes. I suggested leaving them until the Sun went down and things got cooler. I
didn’t have to make that suggestion twice. As the Sun slowly approaches the mountain range Kathy is sitting next to
me in front of the trailer reading while I am writing this post.
With the Sun already set we
were packing things up to go in for the night when we started seeing what
looked like a ball of Fire coming from
behind the mountains to our east. We thought that we were witnessing the start
of a major Fire when suddenly a
round glow came over the mountains. Neither of us had realized that the Moon had not yet risen. We were actually
embarrassed and relieved at the same time.

Love the Sunsets |
Looks like the start of a fire. |
With Hot Temperatures forecasted for the rest of the week there is no
telling what the next few days will bring but we’ll definitely have lots to do.

ReplyDeleteThat is funny about the moon. It was a lovely full moon. Now you could just get the moon to charge your batteries.
ReplyDeleteA 'fire moo', that's a new one. I can understand that.
