Chores, Searching, Eating Out, Learning and Discovering A Difference.

Our Location today is Dome Rock BLM, Quartzsite, Arizona, U.S.A.

Our bodies must be slowly recovering from our unexpected travel day on Monday as we both were getting out of bed shortly after 7:00 MST this morning. The one thing that our bodies haven’t adjusted to though are these cooler temperatures that we’ve been waking up to. This morning our temperature in Quartzsite was 43 F (6 C) and when I looked at The Weather Network it was showing the temperature back in McGregor at 54 F (12 C). That is insulting.
Since we will be sticking around the Quartzsite for a while longer we’ll be moving from Dome Rock BLM to La Posa South LTVA we wanted to get some cleaning done today. While Kathy worked at doing our Online Banking and she needed to print up some statements. Even though I was working at changing the Bedding it was easy enough to set up the printer.
Around 11:30 Kathy started making an early lunch. Trying to keep it Light and Healthy but enough to see us through the busy afternoon, she came up with Tomato/Bacon/Cheese Soup with Bacon/Provolone Cheese on Toasted Bagels and Yogurt with Blackberries topped with a dollop of Cool Whip. Not only did it look good but it tasted great.
New Neighbours.
While Kathy washed the dishes, I was busy sorting our laundry and getting it loaded in the truck. Shortly after 1:00 we were heading into town for the Laundromat. When we got to the Four Way Stop for some reason I didn’t turn towards Main Street. Instead I headed up Tyson Wells Road but it gave us the chance to see some water still in some of the washes as well as what few Vendors are still trying to sell their products.

When we arrived at the Main Street Laundromat this was the first time we had no problems getting as many machines as we needed and since we were doing extra washing today that was important. After the last couple of times Kathy came in to help out but got to relax until things needed folding. While waiting to help she was talking to a gentleman who served in WWII, was 95 Years Young and was still traveling around in his RV.

I managed to break one of the Tail-Lights on the Bicycle Carrier yesterday so we were checking all the Truck Stops and RV Parts Suppliers but nobody has that particular light. After a while we were both starting to feel hungry so when Kathy said she had a craving for Pizza. I wasn’t about to argue with that and there is only one place to get good pizza in Quartzsite and that is at Silly Al’s. Kathy doesn’t get those cravings very often.

We arrived just before 4:00 and had no problem finding a parking spot. Walking inside it wasn’t hard to get a table not like previous times. When our waitress came we immediately ordered so we had our food and drinks in less then fifteen minutes. That was when the place started to fill up and by the time we left there wasn’t an empty seat in the house except the one’s we had just left and even the parking lot had filled up.
We stopped at one last place to check for the Tail-Light on the way Home. It was RV Outfitters and even though they didn’t have the light they did have something else we needed information on. Presently we heat our trailer with the Inefficient Furnace or our Big Buddy Heater. Even though the second works it could do better. Many of our RV friends from Ontario have switched over to using a Blue Flame Heater. Albert was very knowledgeable about all the units that were still available and could list the Advantages and Disadvantages to each one. Kathy had heard about them and what everyone had told her but never seen one in person. Now that we have that information we will have to see where we would put it and which Model to get. According to Albert RV Outfitters has sold over Eight-Hundred Blue Flame Heaters this winter alone.
Back Home after getting the laundry put away we sat outside enjoying the last few moments of a beautiful sunny day. The fact that it was 63 F (17 C) also made it comfortable enough to sit without a coat for a while. When we were here two weeks ago, we were about five hundred feet further south beyond a wash with plenty of desert shrubbery and we could not hear the road noise off I-10. Because we pulled into our present site after dark while it was raining we only knew that it was a good spot to stop for the night. Sitting out this evening we were surprise how we could hear the distant road noise off the Interstate.
Tomorrow we’ll be taking out time to move over to La Posa South LTVA before we start our next adventure. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.
