Making Adjustments, Meeting New Old Friends and Another Friday Night Serenade.

Our Location today is La Posa South LTVA, Quartzsite, Arizona, U.S.A.

After sleeping fairly soundly throughout the night we were both amazed that we slept past 8:00 MST this morning. It also surprised us that the 50 F (10 C) didn’t seem to have the same bity cold that we’ve gotten used to the last few days. We missed the Sunrise but enjoyed our casual breakfast noting that the Flags and surrounding Windsocks were barely moving. This was the kind of relaxing morning that we needed.

After our normal Online reading and chores Kathy busied herself doing her Bookkeeping in order to keep track of or expenditures.

I had a minor adjustment I needed to make on the truck. We run cables under our truck to act as Static Straps which takes away Car Sickness, extreme Tiredness from long drives, getting Shocked when touching metal parts on the truck and even the tendency of Falling Asleep at the wheel. I’ve commented that on long trips Kathy would occasionally take a short nap while we are on a long stretch of road. Yesterday after we returned from our drive on Plomosa Road she was very Nauseous so I thought that I would only have to adjust the cables this morning. What happen was when we were having repairs to the truck done back in January at the Ford Dealership in Blythe the mechanic not knowing what the cables were for had basically wound them up into the Chassis making them useless. It’s a real pain when you have to give shops a list of things not to touch when they service your vehicle. Surely the Wingnut and Copper Lug on the cable would have been a sign that it was meant to be there.

Anyone that says Static Straps don’t work both Kathy and I as well as my children will attest to them. If your straps are not working it’s because they are not touching the ground and have to be replaced or adjusted. That took little time to fix and since we had plans for the afternoon I went back inside.
Always someone keeping an eye on us.
That was perfect timing because Kathy was having a problem with her Bookkeeping Program I had created on Excel. Somehow the last column of February had gained a function that I didn’t put in. While Kathy started making lunch I straightened out the problem.

For lunch Kathy used the last of the Roast Pork that we’d grilled on our Weber Q by chopping it fine created a Pork/Vege Wrap to go with a bowl of Vegetable Soup. For our dessert she used the last of the Blackberries on Yogurt with a dollop of Cool Whip for flavouring. I don’t have to tell you how good it was because there are never any leftovers.

By the time that we finished getting the dishes washed and put away it was past 1:00 so we were soon out the door. We were on our way back out to Plomosa Road once again in search of our fellow RV Bloggers. When we had gotten back Home yesterday I had found an E-mail giving a better description of their location. After a few more E-mails we were heading out to finally meet. Step by step those E-mailed instructions brought us straight to their BLM site.
Deb and Tom
Even though we have been saying we had to get together for a few years this was our first-time we’ve been close enough to meet with Tom and Deb Duchaine from the blog Celebrating the Dance. We arrived just before 2:00 and started talking as if we were long lost friends. As we all said if you are reading one another’s blogs you already know one another because your life is an open book or so we thought.
Before we knew it, the afternoon had flown by and we were making plans to attend the Fish-Fry at the local V.F.W.  Post 769 in Quartzsite. Being a Naval Vet himself Tom likes to support the local V.F.W.s when they are traveling. When we arrived the place was packed but there was still room for more. The service was Fast, the food Tasty and the portions Decent and it was all done by Post Volunteers. The best part of the evening was these good friends and conversation that never stopped the entire time we were together. We are hoping to get back together in La Posa South before we head off to Tucson.
Back Home we are settled in for the night and are being serenaded by the local Coyotes. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.
