Back and Forth.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario.

Last night I just couldn’t seem to get comfortable and spent most of the night tossing and turning while Kathy slept fairly soundly. We were both up before 8:00 and enjoyed toast and coffee for breakfast. We spent some time on the computers killing a bit of time before leaving to go to the Podiatrist. Kathy continues to have a problem with her toe nail on her left foot. The fact that she is Diabetic and she stood with our grandsons in the shallow water of lake Erie the doctor figures that she contracted an organism under the nail and she has been suffering with it ever since.

We were back home for lunch and now we had to do more waiting. The Bell internet Tech was coming to install our new DSL Modem. He called ahead to say he was heading our way and was fairly accurate as to his time of arrival. Setting the unit up only took seconds but it took some time for all the initializing to take place and even Tony had to reboot the computers to get them working and that was using the Ethernet cables. Since my laptop was already turned on he even set it up to wirelessly connect with no problem.

After Tony had left Kathy asked me to set up her laptop which was working fine last night to the new modem. No matter how often I tried it just would not connect to the system. When I spoke with Marvin and explained the problem he had to take control of my desktop so that he could adjust the new modem to work on Kathy’s laptop.

After that was working we went looking for a different desk for my PC that would be close but not quite to the one we got for Kathy the other day. After stopping at five different stores including the Sears Furniture outlet we still had no luck so we stopped at A&W where we both had a Mama Burger with cheese combo for less than ten dollars.

Being Wednesday we continued on to Amherstburg to visit with Kevin and Melissa. Besides having our usual pleasant visit we also had a chance to test our television set from the trailer and it checked out just fine. Now we’ll have to do some testing in the trailer as to why that is the only television that would not work on the cable mode but worked perfectly on the antenna.

Back at the apartment none of the computers will go online with the new modem. It looks like I’ll be calling Bell tech support again. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

  1. Technology is such a pain. Plug and Play is an oxymoron. Three easy steps...step 3 is always "call for help". Good luck getting everything working. Hope it is not too stressful a process.

  2. Technology is great when it works, and when it doesn't no bigger pain. I hope it all starts working again for you.
