Our Location today is Old
Town, Florida.
Last night when we went to bed we really felt tired and we’re
not awake for very long after our heads hit the pillows. The difference from
the night before and last night was that I slept past 8:00 this morning. The taking pictures of the sunrise out
of the question I proceeded to get breakfast prepared while Kathy made her way
to the kitchen. I was even complimented on the French Toast that I had made but
I credited those to my cooking teacher (Kathy) having taught me to do them the
right way.
After breakfast we sat at the computers with the plan of
having a laid back kind of day. Kathy started reading her third book since we
have arrived here in Florida
while I continued getting caught up on some of my spreadsheets.

By 11:00 we
decided it was time to make some homemade chicken noodle soup. We got together
to strip the carcass down. Once we had that in the pot to make our stock I chopped
the celery and onions for flavoring because Kathy has been having problems with
sharp knives lately. While the stock simmered on the stove I continued chopping
the chicken and carrots that would soon become the soup.
The sites are well partitioned in this park. That's our trailer somewhere in there. |
Since there is cooler weather heading our way later this
week we thought this afternoon would be a great time to try the pool and hot-tub
out. While there we had the chance to visit with other park guest learning
where they were from and where they’ll be heading when they leave the park in
the spring.

It was at that point that someone in the pool asked if we
were going to be attending the Pot Luck dinner at the pavilion tonight. We had
only glance at one of the sheets we were given and didn’t think much about it
so our new found friends convinced us to attend.

Back at the trailer we decided to head to the nearest
grocery to find something to bring for the supper. Ten and a half miles later
we were combing the aisles of the grocery store and since we were too late to
cook something up decided on buying a couple of cakes for dessert. After another
ten and a half miles back to the trailer Kathy took the time to cut the cakes
into serving size pieces.
The Park supplied Hotdogs and Hamburgers. |
Two hours later when we left the Pot Luck dinner we had met
many more people from the park, had and enjoyable tasty meal and had no cake
left to take back to the trailer.
