Our Location today is Tampa,
Florida.
We had planned on heading over to the Rally Hospitality
shortly after 8:00 this morning but
for some reason smart clock said 7:00
and when we looked at our watches and other clocks they all said it was after 8:00. By the time we got dressed and out the
door it was nearly 9:00. The tram that
transports you to and from the parking lot runs every half hour and unless you
know which gate you need to enter they just drop you at the first one.
We asked directions because the map of the events made no
sense at all and the only signs posted on the buildings were only related to
the RV Show not the Rally. After asking at three different Information booths
someone finally realized what we were looking for. The reason that the building
was not clearly marked is they did not want people from the Show interfering
events taking place for the Rally participants.
We finally found the Rally Events building after walking
around the Fairgrounds at least twice this morning. It was now after 11:00 and
raining at a steady pace so we got to relax inside the building watching the
building be converted from a social meeting place to where tonight’s
entertainment will take place.
We chose to head over to the floating restaurant in the
middle of the fairgrounds where we lucked out to get two seats at the bar
rather then standing in an endless line of people wanting table seating. We
enjoyed a very tasty Fish and Chip dinner and were headed to the second
merchants building while some of the people ahead of us wanting a table were
just being seated.
We browsed the second building as we had the first and did
manage to find a few things on our needs list but left the want list unscathed.
By this time the crowd was growing and the temps were dropping as the rain
continued to fall so we headed back to the trailer to regroup, dry off and warm
up.
After supper Kathy and I joined the majority of the RVers
here for the Rally at the Events Building to be entertained by a Doo-Wop and
Old Time Rock N’ Roll from the 50’s. Listening to them brought back memories
and made you feel like teenagers again which caused a number of people to use
the aisles as dance floors.
The wind has increased enough to be shaking the trailer also
causing a sudden drop in temperature so who knows what we’ll be up to tomorrow.
Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about time.
