Our Location today is Crystal
River, Florida.
It felt great to just lay in bed talking for a while before
we finally got up at 8:00 this
morning. That is something that you always dream of doing during your working
careers but never get the chance. Even after retirement when you want to slow
down just a bit there seems to be appointments that just can’t wait until you
wake up at a more humane hour.

After breakfast we read our E-mails and blogs before
starting to get caught up on forgotten little chores. I had offered to create a
working spread sheet for Kathy before we had left home to make her job of
keeping track of our budget a lot easier. Today she took me up on my offer so I
set the pattern up this morning and finished fine tuning it this afternoon.

After lunch we went on an exploration of the community of
Crystal River, Florida. The other day when we went out we used the GPS that
screamed instructions to us taking us past countless areas of businesses. Today
we just backtracked the way we drove into the camp and if we saw a strip mall
we’d investigate what stores were there. We finally came across the Crystal
River Mall and were quite surprised. The number of stores that were closed
outnumbered the stores that were open. This was a true reflection of the crash
of the economy but yet other areas we have traveled seemed to be less affected.

Center Roof of the mall is like a Circus Tent above the stores. |
Back at Rock Crusher Canyon RV Park we did some further
exploring. We both decided that no matter which site you could have in this
park we would not be dissatisfied with any of them. Heading to the trailer I completed
Kathy’s spread sheet so she can make the entries and it will do all the
calculations by itself.

Some empty stores had their windows decorated for Christmas. |
After corresponding to an E-mail I went outside to barbecue
a couple of hotdogs while Kathy cooked the side dishes inside the trailer for
supper. Once dishes are finished we’ll spend some time on the computers before
calling it a night. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a
comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about time.
