Our Location today is Olde
Town, Florida.
This morning we were once again awake shortly after 7:00 and again the inside of the trailer felt
like an iceberg so we turned on the furnace just to get the chill out of the
trailer. We proceeded to have our breakfast and sat at the computers enjoying a
second cup of coffee in order to warm up. With plans of exploring the area
today we didn’t just sit around but noticed the trailer was warming as the sun
climbed higher in the sky. With what we needed to bring we headed out the door
and that is when I saw it.
Yesterday the temperature had climbed close to 80 F but with
a comfortable breeze so we had opened the windows in the trailer. Last night
after the sun set and the temps started going down we closed all the windows. As
we were leaving this morning and I was about to lock the door I was looking at the
one window we’d forgotten to close. Gee I wonder why it was so cold in the
trailer last night?
The temp stayed comfortable as we looked around to see the
attractions so we’d know where we had to go and could better plan our outings. We
also had to pick up a few things we needed at where else but Walmart. It seemed
as if we were only in the store a few minutes and managed to find everything we
could think of that was needed on our list we had forgotten to bring.
Since we didn’t feel like eating at any of the fast food
names we took a short drive down US19-Alternate and saw a few interesting places
but one especially was busy so that’s the one we chose. By the time we were
parked a lot of people were leaving and more were pulling in a constant stream.
The name of the place was Bar-B-Q Bill’s. Everything they served other that the
salad bar was barbecued. We had seen the white board with the day’s specials as
we entered and decided on a pork sandwich with fries for $5.25. In less then
five minutes we were eating one of the best barbecued pork sandwiches we’d ever
eaten and at a reasonable price to boot.
As we were heading back to the campground I noticed it was
time to fuel since I had last fueled three weeks today in the state of Georgia.
When I entered the information into a spreadsheet that I monitor our fuel on I noted
that we had over 700 miles in those three weeks and over half those miles were
towing the trailer.
On the way back at the campground we decided we may have our
first campfire of the season so we stopped at the office to pick up some
firewood. Back at our site we unloaded all our purchases and put them away just
on time for a steady wind to start blowing. Guess we’ll be having our first
fire tomorrow. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be
Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about time.

Mmmmmm.....nothing like a good BBQ sandwich! Sounds like the weather is perfect. Hope that campfire works out tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteIt is so easy to do leaving a window open overnite...afterall, how often do we open windows in January while in Michigan or Ontario??? Kind of like out of sight ...out of mind.
ReplyDeleteKeep up the good work. You guys are living the dream. Wish I was there instead of here in the snow. It snowed overnight and now the freezing rain has arrived. Glad I don't have to go anywhere today!!
