There is 79 days left before Christmas and the temperatures we are experiencing today makes it feel like it has arrived. On Thursday the temps were beautiful in the mid 70’s with a warm breeze blowing from the southwest. Even after the sun went down that Thursday night the temperature never dropped until after midnight. Yesterday was much cooler but today we only reached a high of 46F (8C) with a gusty northeast wind.
A true sign of the times is when the birds that don’t go south for the winter start building their nests. One of the things they look for is someplace with only one way in and out. If they are able to find someplace that is warm that is an added bonus.
Kathy and I have been leaving the windows slightly ajar these last few weeks for fresh air and no we don’t have our heat on but the inside warmth of our building is higher than the outside temperatures.
Yesterday and today we have been hearing the sound of something hitting our screened windows making quite a noise. Believe it or not sparrows are sitting on the window sills of the building and actually poking holes into the screens in order to get into our apartment. Kathy and I don’t mind feeding the birds (which we are not doing here) and seeing them in their natural habitat but we are sure the landlord would have something to say about us sharing our apartment with them. As soon as we closed our windows they flew the coop to find someplace else to make their nest.
After lunch we ran a few errands before the holiday weekend crowds would get too bad. First we stopped for cash at the Credit Union. Second we put gas in the car because it was starting to suck wind. Next we needed a few extra groceries to see us through the weekend. Because it was cold enough outside we didn’t have to rush home. Lastly we stopped at Canadian Tire to find the size of garbage bags we use in the apartment and trailer. We continued walking around getting ideas for things we want to replace in the trailer for next spring which will help give us space inside.
The rest of the day was spent relaxing and doing what we do best at the computers. Thanks for following along with us and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about time.

He wanted to put something away for a rainy day.
Yep, that abrupt change in weather was a bit of a bummer all right. It's that change in temperature that sets the stage for we Snow Birds to flex our tires & head for the warmer southernn climates toot sweet:))
