Wow this is hard to believe that after so many sleep deprived nights both Kathy and I are actually sleeping so soundly that we are sleeping in, in the mornings. It wasn’t until after 9:00 we jump from our bed shocked at having slept so late.
Since today we were celebrating our Canadian Thanksgiving with some of our children and grandchildren for supper we hadn’t scheduled anything else for the day. After our visit with our friends Bill and Vera last night we were late in posting our blog. We posted so late that this morning and this afternoon I had a lot of blogs to get caught up on. As I have mentioned before I may not comment on all the blogs we read but if your blog is on our sidebar I keep up with your current activities.

We left around 2:30 for Amherstburg so we could help with any last minute preparations needing to be done. Of course being so very well organized Melissa had everything under control which left us more time to socialize.

There was more than enough delicious food for everyone to eat and even though we have heard Holiday Calories don’t count it was hard to tell when we all waddled away from the table. Plus the doggy bags that everyone had for lunches tomorrow.
The conversations brought back memories and a lot of laughter. It turned out to be another delightful Thanksgiving had by all the family members in attendance.

It is now only 77 days left before Christmas which is only 11 weeks. Time is flying by and even though it may sound like a long way off with everything else that life throws our way that is not much time.

This made us realize we have less than 14 weeks before the start of our next adventure. Many of the other snowbirds we follow are now down to counting days before they start their migration south to the warmer climates. They are truly making us jealous but we want to be here for Christmas with the grandchildren so it is a trade-off.

Why is cleaning your desk so difficult?
Because stuff makes humans feel alive.
If we can see lots of stuff so much the better.

ReplyDeleteGlad you guys had a great Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteJust love the family get togethers, and holiday foods. You could always head south now and make a quick return trip for Christmas.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving - looks like you had a great family gathering too. Food looked terrific!
ReplyDeleteYou dinner looks delicious. I can sure relate to wanting to spend Christmas with the grandkids. Although we aren't snowbirds, I think we would be the January - March variety if we were!!
