Good Sleep and A Short Walk.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

After being so tired from the lack of sleep on Friday night and working at restocking our Fridge/Freezer yesterday, neither of us had a problem sleeping last night. Kathy was in Bed before I had finished publishing the Blog and as typical my Shoulder and Neck Pain sent me over to my Recliner. Within an Hour, my eyes were just starting to open, when there standing in front of me was Kathy asking, “When are you coming to Bed”? Before I could answer, she was gone back to the Bedroom. Minutes later I tried joining her, but she was already curled up in all the bed sheets, and my pillow was on the floor. That is not an uncommon thing, if my head is not holding it in place, that is where it goes. It also means there is very little space on my side of the Bed, which causes my Arm to hang over the side and that causes my Shoulder Pain to be worse than when I first lay down.

Surprisingly, I would spend the next Eight Hours sleeping soundly in Bed. I barely made it to the Kitchen to start getting things ready for breakfast, when Kathy came out to join me. When asked about checking when I was going to Bed, she had no memory of that happening.

After finishing our Coffees we decided on going for a walk. Since it was nearly 11:00, I suggested we make lunch before heading out. With my Shoulder bothering me so badly, Kathy helped to prepare the Toasted Tomato and Cheese Sandwiches.

Finally heading out for that walk, Kathy suggested the Park that we had walked at on the cold day weeks back. When we arrived at that Park, she said she meant the one where the kids had been playing. Not wanting her to start screaming like she has done, I said, “I’m not sure where you want to go, so I’ll stop at every one of them until you tell me we are there”. No Arguments, and no Screaming, just civil conversation. When she said, “Where she went with Danny and Robert, (her late brother)”. I knew exactly where to go. The base of the new Gordie Howe International Bridge is exactly where that Park used to be.

Next, we drove all the way out to the newly developed LaSalle waterfront. She was amazed how much it has changed, not only for Boaters, but the new Roller/Skateboarding Park, that used to be nothing but a muddy field.

Luckily, the Highway Construction had moved further North, so we were able to access Laurier Drive directly from the Front Road. We drove down to Malden Road, past where her grandparents Corner Store used to be. Around the corner we turned through the local Zehr’s parking lot before heading up Sprucewood, past Danny’s house. Luckily, he was not outside, probably due to the 81 F (27 C) feeling like 93 F (34 C) temperatures. We drove to Matchette Road all the way to Tecumseh Road in Windsor.

I have mentioned that not all Dollarama outlets carry exactly the same stock and on Saturday, neither of the east end locations had the Breakfast Juice we prefer. We stopped at a west end location and their shelves were full.

Since we had yet to have our walk, when we parked the Car in its designated spot at home, I convinced Kathy to walk the short block on the Ganatchio Trail, to check out the Construction Work happening on Carling Cresent. At least, that was a Thousand Feet that we may not have walked otherwise.

Back in the Apartment, the first thing we did was open the Balcony Door and Bedroom Window. The natural Breeze helped to keep us comfortable.

Around 6:00 we shared a Store-Bought Thin-Crust Medium Chicken Pizza for supper, with a small dish of Frozen Yogurt for dessert.

We found a Murder Mystery to watch this evening. The beginning was preempted by a Golf Tournament.

I think this will be a busy week for us.
