A Pain To Ease The Pain and Seeing Danny.

With an early morning appointment, I was forced to set the Alarm last night, so as to be on time. The problem is that normally I think about it throughout the night and it keeps me awake. Though we managed to get our exercise walk in yesterday, I spent the early part of the night awake and it was not about the Clock. It has been a few weeks since I have taken any Extra Strength Tylenol before going to Bed and since the Doctor at the Pain Care Clinic decreased the number of Nerve Block Injections he normally stabs me with, it caught up to me. At 3:00 I had no choice but to take the Tylenol in an attempt to get any sleep. Glad the Alarm was on to wake us up.

Though Kathy was not too keen to get up at 7:00, with a reminder of today’s Plans had her scrambling to join me. After Juice for our Medications and a Yogurt Cup, we were out the door by 7:30. Since I did not turn on the Computer to check The Weather Network, the cold Drizzle was our second awakening of the morning.

Driving along Riverside Drive, Kathy could not believe that the Detroit River was filled with personal watercraft, while the occupants were trying to get their fill of today’s catch, even with the Drizzle in the air. (I remember those days.) From the time we pulled onto the Drive, to the time we turned off, there were easily a Hundred vessels in that distance.

I was nice pulling into the parking lot with the Gates wide open and we were able to park close to the door. After signing in at the Pain Care Clinic, because I was there for a different type of treatment with a different Doctor, I had to fill out the same Questionnaires that I filled in a year ago. I was brought in only Five Minutes late and they invited Kathy to be there while the Doctor spoke. Since this would involve injections close to the Spinal Column, there were other forms that had to be signed and witnessed. Kathy was then asked to wait in the Waiting Room.

The original Referral by our Family Doctor to the Pain Care Clinic, was made to deal with my Neck Pain, I had to wait, since I did not want to travel to Toronto for treatment. I was by then suffering with a Shoulder Injury and Pain, so the Cart was put before the Horse.

Today, even with injections to numb the area being treated, the Nerve Blocks themselves were Painful. I thought they would be using an Ultrasound, but they actually used a small portable X-Ray Machine before inserting any of the Blocks. Fifteen Minutes later I was headed out the door. Kathy had gotten another chapter read in her book.

Our breakfast snack had worn off, so we stopped at Wendy’s for Bacon Breakfast Wraps and Coffees. Total cost was $4.20 with Tax.

Next, we headed for LaSalle, which is where Kathy grew up and her brother Danny still lives. With all the changes taking place to the area, Kathy did not recognize where we were. She has also been dreaming of Danny a lot lately, so I promised to take her there to calm her down.

Since we arrived unannounced, Danny was a little surprised but happy to see us. Being still single was reflected in his housekeeping. We had a pleasant visit for nearly an Hour before we left with the promise to call ahead the next time. He noted Kathy’s decline.

Returning the same way we had taken to get there, the reversal had Kathy believing that she had not been there ever before.

With the Drizzle still coming down, I dropped Kathy at the front entrance to our building, before I parked the Car.

It was nearly lunch, so we enjoyed Hotdog Wraps for the second day in a row. They may be cooked in the Frying Pan but since I make Diagonal Cuts through the skin on four sides, they are thoroughly cooked in very little time.

We watched the movie Unstoppable with Denzel Washington, Chris Pine, based on a true story. A real nail biter.

Due to last night’s lack of sleep, my eyes closed a few times while I was catching up on my Blog reading.

Supper was Veggie/Ham Wraps that hit the spot. Three Wraps in One Day!

We watched an early Murder Mystery. Now Kathy is in Bed as I write our Blog.

Already told Kathy, that we are going for another walk tomorrow.
