Errands and Severe Storm.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Since we’ve been getting more seasonal temperatures, if it is not going to Rain at night, we’ve been sleeping with the Bedroom Window open, to take advantage of the fresh air. Unfortunately, there was someone in the building down the road, that thought it was amusing to continually hit the Alarm button for his car, from his apartment every minute. After nearly Two Hours the noise suddenly stopped, when the Police showed up with their flashing lights.

Like when I was working, it seemed the later we went to bed, the earlier we wake up. ??? Still can’t figure out how that works. Today it could have been Spiderman (Nick-Name for a squirrel) crawling across the Bedroom screen (Eighth Floor) that may have woke us. We slept fairly well, only waking long enough to roll over.

We had Yogurt for breakfast and our Coffees at the Computers. We needed to get things ready for our afternoon, so had Veggie Wraps for lunch, along with Pineapple for dessert at 11:00.

After sorting and getting things ready, we both headed out the door by noon. I was headed for the Second Floor Laundry Room and Kathy was bringing the Recycle down to the bins, before heading off to Walmart, for walking exercise.

Lucky for me, there was only one other person in the final stages of folding. I got everything in the Washers before heading back to the Apartment. When you start those Washers, you can’t open them until they are finished. That allowed me to re-open the Balcony Door to keep the Apartment cool, even though the Humidex was already at 97 F (36 C). I made certain to be back before my machines stopped and got the Dryers going.

Back upstairs, I again opened the Door and Window to cool the Apartment. We have a working Air Conditioner, but don’t like the noise and would rather take advantage of the cool breeze we were getting. The reason for closing them, our area was forecasted for Severe Thunderstorms and we didn’t want a sudden flood.

Kathy walked in just as I was about to leave, so we left things open. I was back before 4:00 with everything folded. Sitting down for a few minutes before unpacking, I noticed the sky was suddenly filling with Dark Clouds. Checking the Radar, the storm was approaching from Detroit. I just got in the bedroom to put the clothes away when I could smell Rain. I barely got the Window shut when sheets of moisture came in waves. We could not see the homes just past the parking lot. It lasted for only Fifteen Minutes and there was no Thunder.

We shared an Acorn Squash and a side of Spare-Ribs for supper, with Fake Wine for a drink. After the 6 o’clock Local News we had some Ice Cream for dessert.

Now that I have a better sense of where all the local Construction is taking place, I’ll have to leave early for a 5:00 appointment at the Hospital tomorrow. Since I have to Fast all afternoon, we’ll be hungry when I’m done.

  1. We've had a lot of rain on our trip so far. Nothing severe, just a lot of drizzle.
