Our Location today is McGregor, Ontario,
Canada.
After having a very busy day we both
slept late it was only fitting that we woke to the sound of the lawnmowers
cutting the grass at the golf course just after 7:00 this morning. At first I thought
it strange that such a distant sound would wake me when then the trailer shook.
Did something just hit the trailer? With the addition of Strong Arm Stabilizers I installed last year not too much can move
our Home like what I had just felt. Then it did
it again accompanied by the sound of strong wind. Glancing out the windows I witnessed
the normally composed trees on the surrounding sites looking like they were in
a dance completion with wild gyrations in every conceivable direction.
I’d completed most of my morning reading
by the time Kathy got up just before 8:00. After breakfast we had only a short time to
finish our reading which included checking the Weather Network before heading
out. They indicated that we’d actually get closer to seasonal temperatures for
the day but we could expect wind gusts up to 35 mph.
We were out the door shortly before
10:00 heading to Windsor for our yearly eye exam. We were
a little early but with this being the first time we had driven in from the
county for any doctor’s appointments it was better safe than sorry. David was extremely happy to hear that we had
gone Fulltime giving us the
opportunity to live our dreams because we had always spoken so excitedly about
our travels. After having both our eye exams we were informed that we both have
developed Cataract Problems in both
eyes. Even though it is not pressing at this time it might be something that
will need addressing within the next few years.
Leaving the doctor’s office, we drove over to Princess Auto where I picked a couple of additional double throw electrical
switches that are so hard to find at other retail outlets such as The Source and Canadian Tire. Kathy walked around the Surplus Area that normally has a number
of things that would be of interest to her but said there was little there that
caught her interest today.
It was past noon so we stopped at the Dairy Queen where we enjoyed a satisfying lunch off their value meals
which includes an ice cream sundae. Since we have started Fulltiming that is a treat that can no longer be kept in our
freezer due to the limited space. With the grill being so busy we had half our
sundaes eaten before our order arrived.
Sharing the road with local farmers. Even though the clouds are not showing in the pictures look at the flag next to the tractor. The wind only got stronger. |
Back Home we had planned on doing
additional Landscaping but with the continually high wind gusts we spent the
remainder of the afternoon making phone calls and working on the computers. One
of those calls I am hoping to get answers for tomorrow will address a question posed
to us from another Ontario Fulltimer
about Auto Insurance. Finally, as of
this posting the winds have died down. Thanks
for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about time.
