Did More By Not Planning.

Our Location today is McGregor, Ontario, Canada.

This morning after having breakfast sitting at the dining room table we made another list of things that we thought we needed to do today and the first thing would be to deal with the possible tire issue with the truck. Moments before we were about to head out the door and drive into Windsor something just kept telling me to call first so that’s what I did. Calling Benson Tire in Windsor I found out that Larry the manager we had always dealt with had retired and I was now speaking with Adam who had taken his place. After giving him the exact date those tires were purchased and the recent problem we had been experiencing, what had been found during the yearly Safety we both brainstormed what the problem could possibly be. He then informed me that with this being the long weekend in Canada all his people were reassigned to roadside service and he had nobody in the shop. He told me to call back on Tuesday and he’d set up an appointment to resolve the problem.

That phone call dealt with the most important thing on our list and everything else on that list could wait. We spent the remainder of the morning cleaning our CPAP machines and installing the new masks we’d picked up at VitalAire yesterday. We then worked together recreating some of the Meatloaf we had in the fridge into part of a meat-sauce for some Penne we had for lunch.
We did want to deal with the problem on the wrong food containers this afternoon, so we drove to the Home Hardware Building Center in Amherstburg. Bringing the original container that she had gotten the size of the container from Kathy showed the clerk what the problem was. The Square container fit perfectly in our pantry while the Rectangular one did not. The clerk then brought the food storage containers from the same manufacturer on the computer screen showing that they produced Square and Rectangular containers for each of the six sizes they had listed. It took some time but we finally got the correct containers ordered. Looking around the store we also found some ID letters that we plan on attaching to the picnic table after I put a second coat of stain on it.

Back Home Kathy wanted to vacuum the trailer while I went outside to continue working on our landscaping. By the time Kathy was done the vacuum was full of dust that had accumulated since last time she did it. Now she is breathing much better.
We don't know why but we lost our Robin Family.
If you recall, we recently added the Patio Stones next to our shed to cover over the mud in that corner. We had purchased grass seed and potting soil to help hold the Bermed Soil in place. Well it seems we bought too much grass seed and there were a lot more bare spots around our patio that needed to be fixed.
Everyone knows what happens to grass seed when you spread it. It’s like a big dinner bell going off for the birds. My father who learned from his father taught me that after spreading the seed where there is no grass to simply cover it with a lite coating of dirt before watering it. Even if the birds do eat some of the seed they won’t get all of it.
As the job was progressing I thought we were going to run out of soil. That was when our neighbor Larry asked if we needed more dirt because he was getting rid of his potted garden that he’d had for years. It was a blessing in disguise allowing me to fix a lot of bare spots in the grass.
More unexpected grass repairs.
It soon started being difficult to concentrate on yard work when I began smelling what Kathy was cooking for supper and when she said it was time to eat she didn’t have to call twice. We had delicious meal of Pacific Salmon, Sweet Potatoes and Onions Sautéed in Balsamic Vinegar.
Grass seed and dirt to support the patio stones.
So in the end we didn’t do anything on our list today but we surely accomplished a lot more. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

  1. That's the way we enjoy our days, no list, just go where the spirit moves us.
