Giving Neighbors Modification Ideas.

Our Location today is Punta Gorda, Florida, USA.

Last night we managed to stay warm by running only one cube heater that we sat on top of a cutting board on top of the kitchen stove. Again this morning while we sat reading at our computers we watched our neighbors hurriedly walking their pets before disappearing into their units because of the cooler temperatures.

By 10:30 the temperature had risen to near the 60 F (15 C) mark and being in the direct sunshine it actually felt warmer. I chose this time to add the second coat of paint to our now dry downspout project. Before I could even start another of our neighbors we had yet to meet introduced herself as Bernie and was inquiring about our bumper mounted clothes line. She had seen numerous others mounted on the rear ladder of trailers but since their trailer didn’t have a ladder but did have a bumper she was interested in the design of ours. Soon Kathy joined us praising how handy it was. Steve, Bernie’s husband soon joined our group figuring that if the conversation she was having would involve work for him he wanted to be in on it.

Soon Kathy and Bernie disappeared inside our trailer while Steve and I talked shop outside. Soon the gals came outside and Bernie was quick to tell Steve about the drawer I’d created under our oven. He jokingly said that I’d now created him more work but after showing him the drawer and all the other modifications I’d made he said I was a busy craftsman. When they were heading back to their trailer Bernie was telling Steve he had to do the drawer modification for her. His response was which one. I guess everything I showed him was a bit of an overload. I did manage to paint my project before Kathy called me for lunch.

After lunch I went back to adding our warning lights and digital speedometer on our Tandem Bike. When I told Kathy I’d have to modify the light brackets because the ones supplied would not work her response was simply “You’ll do it” and I did.

The park had hired a DJ to entertain park guests at a Pool Party. Kathy and I are not into crowded scenes like that but being that our site is only five sites from the pool we had no trouble hearing the mostly 50s to 70s music. How the Chicken Dance was requested was beyond us but we heard it loud and clear.

Once the Tandem Bike was totally assembled Kathy said she wanted to go for a ride around the park. It was interesting seeing the look on people’s faces as we rode around the park a couple of times on our Tandem Bike. This park is much smaller than the glades where once around that park would be a couple of miles long but here you would need to ride twice around like we did to make just one mile. Besides regular bicycles at this park you also see a lot of adult tricycles which you don’t see at the glades. For supper tonight I grilled some hotdogs on the Weber that Kathy topped with Sauerkraut.

Tonight our temps will be moderately cool not like the Arctic cold and snow that many of the lower 48 states and most of Canada is presently getting. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

  4. I laugh at the chicken dance. It is one dance that everyone can do if they can walk at all. All through our Tasmanian Summer trip we've experienced DAY temperatures as low as 4C (39F) to the rare 28C (82F) with the average being around 18C (64F) Much cooler than I prefer for summer which is why people like you and I visit warmer places in winter when we can.
