Short Move.

Our Location today is Punta Gorda, Florida, USA.

It seemed strange that even though we were in no big hurry to leave the Glades Golf and RV Park this morning we both had trouble sleeping last night. The pretravel night of which neither of us slept soundly. We were up shortly after 7:30 but were ready to climb back in bed because of still feeling tired.
With breakfast complete I finished closing up our CPAPs and the bedroom while Kathy secured the back two rooms. Once all my chores inside were complete I drove down to the marina to fill our water cart jugs and to dispose of the trash. By the time I returned Kathy was ready to bring in the slides. Since I’ll need to modify our rear trailer bumper hitch when we get back home we had to work together to fasten the Tandem Bike to the trailer bumper for safe transportation.
We were totally hooked up by 10:30 and had already said our goodbyes to our neighbors Tom and Fran so we walked over to Elaine and Rick’s trailer. There we had our see you later hugs and handshakes until next year even though they are still struggling with their colds. Even Lily and Tucker came to the door and said their goodbyes. On the way back to the truck we ran into Will and Cindy who pulled in the day after we did but are staying for another month.
By 10:45 we were on our way out the gate headed towards LaBelle with the plan to have one final dinner at the Log Cabin Restaurant. Our reasoning is we can always eat at a franchise restaurant anytime but there is only one Log Cabin Restaurant and their fall off the bone Spare Ribs can’t be beat. (Sorry Greg.) They have two single lane exits to their parking lot and we simply parked in one while we ate. The service was a little slow because everyone in the area that had just left their Sunday Morning Church Services was coming there for lunch.
Once we got back on the road the rest of our trip only took another forty-five minutes and we were arriving at our destination. Because it was Sunday there was nobody in the office when Kathy went to register. However there were at least a dozen notes to people who were expected to arrive today with their site numbers and a map of the park. The only problem we had was I had to drive around another block so that I could angle the trailer back into our site from the opposite direction.
It was good that we were early enough in the day to set up slowly because with the temperature being above the 80 F mark we were both tiring quickly. For supper I grilled a couple of hamburgers to go with the macaroni and cheese Kathy had made. Later as we sat at our computers getting caught up on our reading we could hear private gatherings all around us rooting for their teams that were playing in the Super Bowl.
Tomorrow we get to start exploring this new area. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
