Rainy Exchanging Snow Day.

Our Location today is Punta Gorda, Florida, USA.

Even though we had a busy day yesterday and we are both still recovering from the colds that are going around southwest Florida Kathy didn’t sleep too well last night. Being as tired as we were when I set up our CPAP equipment before going to bed I failed to notice that the condensation setting had been change while we had traveled. With a greater concentration of moisture coming up Kathy’s hose she felt like she was drowning from all the moisture and wouldn’t wake me up to check it out. She ended up sleeping more than half the night without the use of her machine which left her feeling tired when it was time to get up. The problem has been resolved and I showed her how to fix the problem herself if it ever happens again.

After having breakfast we walked up to the park office and settled our bill for the next month. When we got back it wasn’t long before we loaded the truck and headed for Fort Myers. We had made a number purchases at different locations last month that we had found not to be complete or were not the sizes indicated in the packaging.

Our first stop was Camping World where I returned a propane adapter that said one thing on the outside but was a different product inside. Not being able to find what I needed on the shelf we were instructed to ask at the parts counter. After ten minutes of searching Bob the rep couldn’t even find a listing in his 2015 catalogues.

Our next stop was Home Depot but after entering the address into our GPS it started running us around in a circle even taking us onto I-75 having us get off on Luckett Road and heading back on the same route it had just had us drive not even ten minutes before. I may not know my way around Fort Myers yet but I don’t forget my streets that quickly. When we finally found the Home Depot we were surprised to find that the larger sized parts that we needed were cheaper that the smaller parts we were exchanging. Must be Supply and Demand pricing.

By this time it was nearly 1:00 so we stopped at Chic-Fila to have lunch. Just as we finished parking the skies opened up and the possible rain showers became more than a reality. Lucky for us we had watched the Weather Channel this morning and had brought our raincoats. You should have seen the dirty looks we were getting from people inside the restaurant that were standing in line dripping wet. We enjoyed our meal and went next door to Staples looking for a pencil sharpener that we never did find.

Our last stop was at K-mart where we had purchased solar lights but only found six of the eight lights were complete. Since the package was sealed when we purchased it the problem was at the manufacturing end and we were immediately given the parts for the last two lights. We looked around while we were there and found a few other things that we needed like the ever elusive pencil sharpener.

It was nearly 5:00 by the time we were headed back to the trailer so we simply stopped at Pizza Hut and got a medium Hawaiian pizza to go. After eating it in the comfort of our trailer we turned on the computers where I was able to order the exact propane fitting that I needed from Camping World. What the???

Also on her E-mail Kathy found our kids had set pictures from back home. They had both received over a foot of snow since noon yesterday and all the kids had a Snow Day from school. At Kevin’s home they had a picture of Kathy’s car under a foot of snow. At Karen’s house the snowdrift was nearly five feet up the side of the house. Poor Sanford couldn’t find a spot in the yard that he could do his business. We feel sorry for them but are definitely glad we are not there right now.

Kathy was reading George and Suzie’s Awesome Travels and they were also hit very hard by this Winter Storm. Stay Safe guys and hopefully you’ll be down south again next winter. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
