A Near Exploring Day.

Our Location today is Adel, Georgia.

When my head hit the pillow last night I quickly fell asleep. Kathy tossed for a half hour until she heard the rain bouncing off the roof. The next thing she knew it was after 7:00 when she found me at the computer reading the last of the morning blogs we follow. After lying awake most of the night I just got out of bed by 5:00 and today isn’t even a travel day.
Signs of Spring this morning.
Since the rain had stopped sometime during the night we decided as we ate breakfast that we would explore the road leading to the park in a different direction today. We headed in a westerly direction towards the city of Moultrie. It was double the distance than traveling to Adel but we had plenty of time on our hands.

We actually had set the GPS for the address to their Walmart but after driving by the Home Depot that looked to be quite busy for a Sunday morning the GPS wanted us to go right and we were looking at the Walmart on the left. Pulling into the parking lot we found it edged by a strip mall where we immediately stopped at the Dollar Tree.

We managed to find the two items that we were looking for and were on our way to Walmart in five minutes. In Walmart we went straight to the electronics department to purchase air time cards for our Verizon Internet device. We then gathered a few more items that weren’t at the grocery store yesterday.

Since it was nearing noon we headed across the street to the Chick-Fil-A for lunch. Imagine our surprise when we found that this location was not open on Sundays. Looking across the street again we headed over to the Huddle House. This was a first time for us at this chain but what we found was clean reasonably priced place to eat that cooked tasty food fresh and had great customer service.

We were about to further explore the city but when we looked at the sky and thought that it might be wiser that we head back to the trailer. We’ll just have to stop to look around the next time we are in the area.

Driving back to the park the sky got extremely dark and we thought that we were going to be in a major storm any minute. As we got closer to the camp the odd raindrop started landing on the windshield but it held off until we were parked and in the trailer. The rain came down moderately for about five minutes and then turned to a drizzle for another ten before stopping but the skies remained cloudy for the rest of the day.

Since it was supposed to rain heavily all day and through tomorrow I chose to drain and flush the waste tanks today and stow everything but the main utilities. We’ll see how wet we get leaving Reed Bingham State Park in the morning. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
