Different Kind of Adventure.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

After sleeping soundly the whole night and waking up in our apartment this morning it almost felt like a bad dream. My legs had to stretch further to hit the floor and there was no sway to the room from winds outside. Going into the kitchen caused some head scratching as I tried to remember where necessary items needed for breakfast were in the cupboards and not in the pantry. The one positive thing we experienced was watching the Weather Channel for the area we are in and not having to worry what the kids are going through back home because we are there.

We had just finished breakfast and were making a list of errands that we needed to run when there was a knock at our door. Dan the apartment’s handyman was standing there with our basket of mail that had been collected for us while we were down south. He also welcomed us back and then introduced us to our very own apartment fire alarm that had been installed while we were away. With a change of building codes that was something that the Province of Ontario now requires apartment buildings to have so if an alarm goes off everyone will hear it.

Once Dan left Kathy was quick to start going through the mail. As our American friends have just filed their Income Tax returns on the 15th of April our’s are due by the 30th of this month. What Kathy was looking for was a variable of T-4 slips (Slips sent by Employers and Banks stating monies you were paid through the year) that are mailed to us so we can then submit our returns.

While she sorted through the mail I was on the cell phone with Bell telephone wondering why our phones in our apartment were not yet activated. Even though we have an all in one service and everything else had been reactivated the date for our phones was for the 19th and not the 15th like everything else. It took the tech less than five minutes to get our phones up and running.

Today we enjoyed a nice bowl of Taco Soup that Kathy had made while we were in Pigeon Forge. The taste was wonderful as Kathy had said the flavors would meld together perfectly and they did.

Our first stop was at the Credit Union so we’d have some Canadian currency in our pockets.

Next we stopped at the trailer to get the rest of our clothes so we can repack only what we really need to carry in it.

We then went to our accountants to drop off our Income Tax Returns since Kathy had found all the receipts that we needed.

We then had to stop at VitalAire to pick up our CPAP supplies but we got a surprise. The person we have been dealing with all these years no longer worked there and they didn’t have our supplies ready. So I went next door to the Blood Donor Clinic and made my 87th donation. The place was packed and it took longer than it normally does but it all turned out well. I even met a gentleman called John who had just returned on Sunday from Fort Myers, Florida. He had also made blood donations while away. Kathy had walked through the building and finished our business with VitalAire while waiting for me.

We were running low on a few food stocks so we made a quick stop at Metro grocery store before getting home. It didn’t take long to get everything into the apartment but by the time we had our supper we thought we’d save the clothes sorting for tomorrow. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
