Exploring and People Watching.

Our Location today is Sevierville, Tennessee.

Sleeping with the window open all night was like putting us in a hypnotic trance. We even slept until nearly 8:00 this morning before starting our day by having breakfast. We watched the Weather Channel and learned that after today we are going to experience more cold wet weather.

With that thought in mind we hurriedly did our morning reading before heading out on a walk around the park. The rear of our trailer faces the river and everyone uses that area as a dog walk so we started walking towards the north end of the park until we had no choice but to return to the asphalted roads. Other couples were sharing the same thoughts and we passed many along the way. We had only gotten half way to the front office when the warm rays of the sun were becoming too intense for Kathy.
Back at the trailer we sat outside waiting for her to catch her breathe. This also gave us time to sit and people watch as well as seeing a stream of RVs pulling out. We were also watching the park tractor moving trailers to and from the storage area.

Many people that only live a short distance from the park have their trailers stored here. When they leave the park tractor comes along and moves the trailer to storage. When those same people are returning to the park the tractor tows the trailer out to an available site so when the people get there they only have to finish setting up for their stay.
We shared a Bacon and Tomato sandwich with potato salad on the side.
After having a light lunch we decided to do more exploring of Sevierville. In the process we stopped at the K-mart store where we picked up a case of bottled water and with only 277 days left before Christmas Kathy purchased our first gift for this year.

Driving through the rest of town I turned down one of the side streets expecting to end up close to our park. Roads that run in mountainous regions do not travel in straight lines and are not short. We ended up emerging at the far end of Pigeon Forge not far from Dollywood.

We treated ourselves to an Ice Cream Cone at Baskin Robins for an afternoon snack. Driving back up the strip you could easily tell that most of the street rods had already left or were in the process of leaving. There were pickup trucks pulling trailers with up to four street rods on them.

Back at the trailer we continued our people watching while enjoying this summer like weather. At one point we saw a gentleman rowing a Zodiac type inflatable boat up the river behind us. Moments later that same man goes flying down the river no longer rowing. Somewhere he had added an outboard motor and he kept going back and forth just having fun.

For supper I fired up the Weber and grilled some nice Farmers Sausage while Kathy made a nice pasta salad with peas for a side. We also have leftovers for another meal.

The Weather Report for this evening has changed and now everyone that plans to leave in the morning are scrambling to get hooked up tonight. We’ll be taking care of business tomorrow and hitting the road on Tuesday. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
