Frustration to Enjoyment.

Our Location today is Sevierville, Tennessee.

Well I was definitely right when I said that we wouldn’t have any problems sleeping in last night’s blog post.  We slept in until 8:30 this morning which is out of our norm. Another thing that has not been our norm lately is getting out of bed to 39 F (4 C) temperatures inside and outside the trailer because we hadn’t turned on any form of heat before going to bed because we were just too tired.
We shivered through our hot cereal and coffee for breakfast while the electric cube heater finally warmed the air so we couldn’t see every breathe we took. It didn’t take too long for us to get dressed in long pants with socks and shoes instead of the sandals and shorts that we’ve become accustomed to.
Now I had to get serious because I had to deal with the people who handle payments for Verizon. Being Canadians and getting good MiFi connections when traveling in the US can be a pain. Last year we established a prepay account with Verizon that had its glitches but worked. This year the same system only worked for three weeks and failed thus our account was changed. It lasted two months and now we are trying to pay the way we were told to but Verizon is not accepting our payment. I was on the phone over two hours with eight different representatives each telling me it was a different department that I had to deal with. I finally got the address of the local corporate office that we could visit.
Shortly after our late lunch we went to downtown Sevierville to get this straightened around. We spoke only to Gary the manager who agreed that we should have no trouble with our method of payment and proceeded for the next hour and a half to try and get this straightened out. He had the same luck we did and my next step is going to the top before I contact the Better Business Bureau.
Kathy and I both had headaches at this point (we don’t know why?) so we went looking around to see all the changes that have taken place in the area since we were here last year. We were slightly hungry by then so we ate at Long John Silvers and enjoyed one of their fish and chip dinners. We love our fish.
Kathy had researched a performance by Mentalist Bill Gladwell that she thought would be fun to see so we drove through Pigeon Forge out to Gatlinburg to see him. The theater was small seating possibly 50 people. He only chose the first person to help him whose job was to choose the next assistant. He had kids and adults assisting him and everyone was amazed and in wonder as to how he was solving what people were doing and thinking. This is the type of show you can take your family to.
There was a five minute intermission where a magician offered free tickets to his show tomorrow night. You don’t have to be a mentalist to know where we’ll be going tomorrow night. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

  1. You have cold weather there, we enjoying pretty decent weather in Missouri.
For our Verizon I simply got a Verizon top up card at Dollar General last year. I can stop at any Dollar General top up the card and it automatically goes right to my account, no hassles.
