Freezing Cold AC, Appointment In Amherstburg, Fun Celebration and Finally Saw The Sun.

Our Location today is at Windsor, Ontario.

Unless we have something pressing where we might need to set the alarm we’ve just been getting up naturally which means when we feel rested and the light from the Sun stars seeping past our Window Blinds. The problem we both faced this morning was the sky was filled with heavy Clouds that were busy watering all the local vegetation. There were so many puddles in the parking lot that it looked like a miniature lake.
Camera always makes the sky look bright
but you can see the water puddles.
I had everything ready for breakfast and had nearly finished reading all the Blogs we follow before Kathy joined me. She thought she had slept through the daytime and it was time to go back to bed.

While having breakfast we made note of just how Cold it felt in our Apartment. When the overnight temperature doesn’t get below 81 F (28 C) at night we leave the AC on set for 77 F (25 C). Our AC Sleeve is located a Foot off the floor so it should shut down or just idle when that temperature is easily reached. We then have a Weather Gauge on the other side of the room mounted Six Feet off the floor that since warm air rises should be warmer. Instead this morning that Weather Gauge was showing a temperature of 61 F (16 C). This is not the first time this has happen so we will be calling Al’s Air Conditioning to have him check out our Unit since it is still under warranty.
After spending the morning on the Computers we needed to have Chicken Noodle Soup to warm up. Kathy also added a dessert plate to help see us through the afternoon.

While she changed the Batteries in her Hearing Aids I did up the Dishes before going to take a shower.

Before heading out the door shortly after 2:00 I adjusted the AC to 81 F (28 C).

We made a quick stop at Motor City Community Credit Union. I needed to wear my Mask, Disinfect My Hands and stand behind the Red Line for my transaction. There was no filling in a Questionnaire like was necessary since the start of the shutdown.
We were soon on our way to Amherstburg. It was a nice drive with only moderate traffic but the Clouds continued to look threatening and would occasionally show so on our windshield.
After sitting in the Car for a short while I donned my Mask and headed in by the Front Door. My temperature was checked and I sat for an entire minute before being called in. That gave me the chance to see how some changes to the office had been made.

I needed a couple of Fillings and since I don’t take any Freezing there are no After-Affects. Sean was done in Twenty Minutes. We had a chance to talk about our winter in Windsor then how he had started the Office Expansion just before the Coronavirus Shutdown started. Until our area goes to Phase 3 his business is quite strapped because he still has the Mortgage to pay but is doing less then Twenty Percent of the work to pay for it. I had to exit by the Back Door.

We stopped at the new Wendy’s in Amherstburg to have supper. After getting our usual Two Chicken Wraps, Two Small Chocolate Frosties and Two Seniors Soft Drinks all for $7.41 we sat in the parking lot to eat and were more then satisfied with our meals.

We had another stop to make and that was why we took the Car rather then the Truck but half way back to Windsor we had to change our plans. Since our area is only in Phase 2 of reopening Restaurants and Fast Food Outlets don’t allow people inside so you do what you have to do.

We were back at the Apartment by 5:30 and it was colder then it had been earlier in the day. Having no other choice I shut the AC but it sounded like the Compressor was still cycling. After getting the relief we had gone there for we again headed back out after 6:00.
Our destination was our daughter Rose’s house on McKay Avenue. We wore our Masks to protect to Rose who is now expecting her second child with Munaf while we visited. There was another reason for being there as well and that was to celebrate our grandson DJ’s Fifteenth Birthday. He appreciated his gift and his Birthday Cake before heading upstairs to his computer. That gave the rest of us a chance to visit.
The most Sun we saw all day.
We left shortly after 8:00 and the Clouds continued to fill the sky. Inside the Apartment looking out the Balcony Door we saw the Sun suddenly reflecting off the neighbourhood for the first time today. It was still quite cool inside and after a short while we heard the AC Compressor trying to cycle again. I unplugged the Unit and will be calling Al first thing in the morning.

We watched the 11 o’clock Local News and found out the Premier (equivalent to a US Governor) of Ontario was in our area today checking out how we are doing dealing with the Coronavirus Recovery. We are also going into another stretch of HOT Days for our area. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.
Be Safe and Enjoy!

  2. At this point in life I'm thankful for our retirement checks. It is sad to see those who are struggling, or just making ends meet... with no room for surprises. Happy birthday to your grandson.

  3. Happy Birthday, DJ. A busy day taking care of your own errands. Right now, won't talk about the a/c issue. Ha ha, just kidding, because ours isn't working at all!! Take care.

  4. I'm actually liking the effect of the virus on professional offices. They are much more efficient and waiting time is at a minimum. I hope they keep this up!!
