After sleeping with all the
Windows and Roof Vents open again last night I was up by 7:30 this morning
feeling totally refreshed. I managed to get all the Window Shades up and Breakfast
ready before checking anything on the Computer.
As soon as The
Weather Network showed that it
was 59 F (15 C) that was when I heard Kathy starting to move upstairs.
Along with breakfast we
also planned our day. The first thing we needed to do was to call the Motor City
Credit Union back in Windsor to
figure out why Kathy couldn’t get into her account. With the Three-Hour difference from here to back
in Windsor
we only managed to get a Voice Mail
that said they would call back but they didn’t so we’ll try again tomorrow.
RV after RV started pulling out shortly after
9:00 this morning heading to wherever but we made certain to say our “See You
Later” to those that we had become acquainted with. The one we were surprised
to see leaving early was Howard and Linda themselves.
Putting together Rallies can be
stressful but going from One to Another can be even worse so they were
planning a couple of Down Days near
the Mohave
Desert for a couple of days. We didn’t
wait around after loading the Truck and
were on our way to Quartzite.
We needed some water for
our Fresh Water Tank so we headed
over to La
Posa South LTVA. We swung by Wayne and Sue’s RV but they were out so we’ll stop by when we have the Trailer with us. At the Fresh Water Taps I used our Filters to fill our Drinking Water Jugs rather then bringing
the Barrel which is secured to the Carrier Rack on the back of the Trailer. We only need a bit of water to
see us through the next couple of days.
By 11:30 we were at the Main Street Restaurant for lunch. We
had today’s special which was a Cheese
Melt Sandwich. We only had the chance to talk slightly to Michelle because
the place was packed but she knows we will be leaving and won’t be back until
the fall.
Our next stop was the Main Street
Laundromat because it is easier
traveling with clean clothes rather then trying to find someplace to do washing
along the way. It didn’t take long to get started but when it came to drying
the clothes there were a lot of Dryers
that were “Out Of Order” but once
the clothes had been dried by working together to fold the Clothes we were finished by 1:30.
Needing some Drinking Water, we stopped at Family Dollar to purchase water at the Reverse Osmosis Machine.
Heading up Arizona 95 our last stop was at RV Pitstop to top off our Twenty Pound Barbecue Tank and the spare Thirty Pound Propane Tank. It cost far less to fill them here then
in Ontario where if you want to top off a Forty
Pound Tank and you only need Five
Pounds you will still pay for Forty
Pounds of Propane. Here in the US you
only pay for what you get. Before we get back to Canada we’ll top off the Propane Tank we are using for the Fridge.
Driving up Plomosa Road we could see that Lorne and Sue from the blog A Place Called Away were
still settled in with their friends. Pulling in to the BLM land where the Rally had just taken place there were
only Five Fifth Wheels left
including ours from the original Forty
RVs.
Once we had unloaded the Truck my next chore was to put away my Clean Clothes. Because Kathy has Arthritis in her hands and she wanted
to use up some Peppers that we had
so she had me chopping them and a couple of Steaks up so she could cook them.
I planned to do some Dirty
Work outside so I wore my old work clothes. When I went outside I decided to
transfer the Fresh Water to the Trailer and since those Jugs have a Threaded Connection I could use our Pump. I had just finished transferring
the one Jug over when looking on the
other side of the Truck there’s a Jeep pulling up.
It was Tom and Deb from Celebratingthe Dance that were coming to visit. It was a pleasant surprise. I
invited them in and we had the chance to get caught up because they’ve been
traveling since they left La Posa South. It’s a tradition that they
stay on Plomosa
Road at least one a year and they
hadn’t done it yet this year. Now they are parked within sight of where we are
parked.
They couldn’t stay for
dinner so after they left I finished transferring the Water while Kathy finished cooking the Pepper Steak she was making. It was delicious as ever and there is
still plenty left for another meal. It was while we were eating I realized we forgot to take pictures. What kind of Bloggers are we?
We had some Firewood to use up before we head for Home so
I hauled it over to the Main Firepit
that had been used for the Rally. My
idea of Firestarters are pieces of Newspaper or Cardboard so I brought some over along with our Chairs. I swept some charred pieces of
wood that had been burnt last night and noticed one to still be smoldering. Not Good to do safety wise but I took
advantage of it. I pushed it onto a piece of Cardboard the put some paper and piled wood around in a Teepee fashion. Kathy joined me but had
forgot her Jacket so I went back to
get it. By the time I returned the pile of wood was smoldering and a minute
later it was burning without my having lit it.
When the rest of the gang
joined us they couldn’t believe that we hadn’t lit the fire but they had been
smelling something burning at Happy Hour
when they were at Steve and Diane’s Trailer. We burned a lot of Firewood this evening and there’s still
more.
Tomorrow we’ll get a few
more things ready for pulling out on Wednesday. Thanks for following along, feel free to
leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about time.

Keeping up with everyday chores take a lot more time when RVing than people in bricks and sticks houses realize. Even the availability for potable water is not always a given.
ReplyDeleteSeems there is always chores to do. GREAT fire!!
ReplyDeleteNice that Tom and Deb stopped by for a visit.
ReplyDeleteGood to spend time and catch up together.
Good luck with the packing up for your journey home.
Both Costco and our local Co-op in Alberta sell propane by the litre just like south of the Medicine Line.
ReplyDeleteSafe travels.
ReplyDeleteGlad we had a chance to sit and visit. By the way I thought of the picture thing when we got back to the Stinger "B". Evidently to busy enjoying the conversation to think about it when we were there...:)
ReplyDeleteSafe travels.
