RV Electrical, Disappointing News, Cleaned Up, Tasty Pot Luck and Falling Asleep At The Computer.

Our Location today is on Plomosa Road BLM Land, Quartzsite, Arizona, U.S.A.

It is strange that every day we don’t set the alarm we seem to be waking earlier then the day we did. I opened all the Window Shades and noticed that there was no one outside at 7:50 so I took a picture of a totally deserted Center Meeting Area. Then it was time to start getting things ready for breakfast which I barely finished doing when Kathy came downstairs at 7:59 MST rather then sleeping in.
The Center Meeting Area.
We spent a little more time on the Computers this morning knowing that we could easily walk across the Center Area and be on time for when the Seminar would start at 10:00. Checking the temperatures for the next week convinced us it was time to shut the Pilot Light off on our Blue Flame Heater. It is amazing how much heat just the Pilot Flame alone can produce and with Warmer Daytime Temperatures arriving for the next week it was time to shut it off.
Howard teaching the Basics of Electricity.
Today at the Seminar they talked about RV Batteries, Electrical, Converters, Generators, Inverters and Solar Panels. Because Kathy has always asked me how things work so she can understand it, a lot that was explained today she already knew. One thing She was not ready to hear was that you can’t use Old Batteries with New because the New Ones will be doing all the work and burn out faster then the Old. I had told her that before but she thought that I was just Yanking Her Chain. Hearing it come from Howard this morning has put a damper on our adding Two more to our Battery Bank of Four and Five-Year-Old Batteries.
This is our Classroom.
When I went to close up our Chairs to bring back to the trailer the one that I just repaired yesterday, sheared the New Bolt that I had installed.

For Lunch we shared a Pork Roast Sandwich, some Chicken Noodle Soup, a Mandarin Orange and Yogurt Cups.

After cleaning up the Dishes we worked together to make our Hawaiian Fruit Salad for tonight’s Pot Luck. Kathy did the measuring and mixing while I did the chopping. Once it was put in the Fridge to cool we both headed outside to do chores.
Kathy organizing the Pot Luck food table.
Kathy busied herself cleaning the Truck’s Dashboard. There is so much Dust that we had to wipe off the Digital Displays each time so we could see them. When she got done the Dash sparkled.
The first to have their Letter called.
Not knowing how much Food would be brought out this evening, Howard had requested that anyone with Tables to bring them out. We had a Large and Medium Table that came from our Basement. Just being stored there they needed to be cleaned off before I brought them over to use.
Diane and Steve from Living The Dream.
Back inside I made an Allergy Label for our dish because it contained some chopped Walnuts and we didn’t want anyone with a Nut Allergy to get sick or worse. We had only had enough time to check our E-Mails again before heading over to the Firepits at 5:00. Diane and Steve from LivingThe Dream were already there so before I forgot to take their picture again I did it before the meal started.
People sitting in a square eating their Pot Luck Meal.
By 5:15 there was a steady line of people bringing out their special contributions to the meal. Kathy noticed that they were just putting Salads, Food, Dessert and Snacks all mixed together so she started directing them in order. Linda was impressed and together they fine tuned the food’s arrangement before starting to call people up to eat.

Kathy was given the task of calling everyone up to eat without having mass chaos and without Table Numbers to call. She started randomly calling Letters of the Alphabet. If their Last Names began with those Letters they could get in line for food. The last two letters called were P & R like in Howard & Linda Payne and Kathy & Rick Rousseau. Lots of the dishes were already empty but there was still more then enough food that people were going back for seconds.
The Sun we never saw today Setting.
When it came time for people to bring their leftovers back Home we had to scrape our Bowl to get a Single Serving for a snack. (I think they liked it.) It wasn’t as chilly tonight so we stayed at the Campfire until after 8:30. With the calming effect of the Fire and the Fresh Air I’ve been falling asleep at the Computer while writing this Blog.
