It was another night of back and forth, but it should not matter. The part that matters the most is spending time with Family and Friends and sharing our Love. Yes, we spend a little more than just Time showing how much we care to those around us. Many say that it is more commercialized today and I agree. I recall growing up, when times were really hard, that this day was a test of our Faith. Unfortunately, many think that their Faith is the only one to believe in, but I will challenge that. I believe that all Faiths are all the same, only changing the name of who we believe in. Some even challenge the day of the year those celebrations take place, but again it is not important. What is important is believing in Humanity and Peace on earth, instead of trying to destroy it.
Though, I was up slightly before Kathy this morning, we didn't have much time to sit around. We barely had time to check The Weather Network, before getting our first Christmas Greeting on the phone. Something I have surprised myself with, is I can now sense when someone is Smiling with Happiness, simply by hearing it in their voice. Our son Kevin, and daughter-in-law Melissa were wishing us the best and they were Smiling. Smiles, are good for your health and your attitude, will lift someone's spirits when they most need it. Let's all try to share a Smile with as many people as we can. We had to explain what we meant by our Six Days of Christmas, making this our 3rd.
We were on our way to our daughter Karen and son-in-law Greg's home in Tecumseh for Christmas Brunch. Besides enjoying a meal with family, it brought everyone together for that moment. Kylla layed down after eating, because she is working Sixteen Hour Shifts as a Trauma Nurse at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. Tyler, at Twenty-Four Years of age, is now a Certified Journeyman in his trade, sharing his knowledge with an Apprentice, working under his guiding hand. Ashley and Zeth spent the night rather than commuting from the Farm near Wheatly. These kids are just growing too fast.
The food was delicious as always with Karen and Greg cooking a great meal. It would have been easy to overeat, but I simply took a small sliver of each dish.
As the kids headed off to meet other Friends of Extended Family Members, it was time for us to give Hugs and Handshakes for the day.
Back at the Apartment we had to gather ingredients for our contribution to tomorrow's Family Christmas Celebration. Somehow one of the most recent purchases was MIA. We searched for nearly an Hour, before finding the Package, stuffed inside a Storage Container, behind something else, at the rear of an upper shelf. The end result was we worked together and have it finished in the Fridge.
I also had to slice up a Fresh Pineapple we purchased the other day. With all the standing earlier, I had to sit a couple of times to rest my Back. (Will it ever end?)
We had not eaten since this morning's Brunch, so we shared a Store-Bought Thin-Crust Medium Pizza for supper around 7:00.
We had just finished eating, when our son Ken called to wish us a Merry Christmas. His phone sounded like he was standing across the room from it, as we both struggled to hear him. We'll see them all tomorrow.
Later we watched "Dr Suess's The Grinch Who Stole Christmas" before watching "The Grinch Who Stole Christmas" starring Jim Carey.
Both Kathy and I hope that all our Family, Friends and Followers, enjoyed a Wonderful Christmas Day, no matter how you celebrated it.
