Bad Cooking Experiment and Empty Handed.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Sleeping last night was not a problem, but my experimenting with different food dishes was. Just like the Cooking Channel where all the great Chefs had to try different recipes to perfect their Signature Dishes, I did the same. Since my surgery it was difficult to always use fresh ingredients, so like many I reverted to using Minced Garlic in a jar. Not only is it quick to use but it does not spoil as quickly either. The problem with yesterday’s Tomato/Cheddar Soup was there was only a Quarter Teaspoon of Garlic in the container, but there was probably double that of Juice and I put it all in. The Soup tasted great and nothing was overpowering, until we had been sleeping on it for about an Hour last night. We both started blowing up like Balloons and started playing Tag Team to ease the situation for another Hour. Once the crisis was averted, we managed to sleep soundly until morning.

Today was my turn to do my Christmas Shopping for Kathy, so like yesterday when it was her turn, I waited until after lunch. Kathy had surprised me by saying how crowded Walmart had been yesterday but I had the same thing today. Though there was nobody trying to take anything out of my hands, there was a woman who stopped Three different women, asking their opinion about the same Green Top in just the short time I was in that department.

I left empty handed to only go to Dollarama to pick up a few things we decided we should include in the family celebration.

Feeling disappointed with my failed effort, I headed for home and started cooking our supper. Like when I used to weld, the act becomes so natural that you have plenty of time to think about other things. Thought the temperature will be closer to 1 F (-17 C) tomorrow, I now know a few other places I should have gone to today.

We enjoyed our Honey Garlic Spare Ribs with Sauteed Potato Slices and Zucchini for supper, with a smaller dish of Frozen Chocolate Yogurt for dessert.

After the 6 o’clock Local News we managed to watch a couple of short programs. Even with the Cold Temperatures, I’ll be out again shopping tomorrow.

Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment, unless it personally attacks someone for their opinion, or is Spam.

Be Safe and Enjoy!

  1. We've had an awful experience with that minced garlic in oil. Never again!!
