After not sleeping very well on Saturday night, I changed my strategy. We didn’t have any Sleepy-Time Tea before going to bed, but simply took our needed medications. For me that was a Melatonin tablet.
Kathy fell asleep the moment her head hit the pillow. The Melatonin and built up tiredness did the trick for me. I only recall waking twice and falling right back to sleep, which meant I wasn’t disturbing Kathy.
I woke at 8:10 and was just getting things ready for breakfast when Kathy joined me at 8:30. We settled for Cereal only before taking our Coffees over to the Computers.
The first thing I did was to look up Kathy’s Medication List that we created. On Thursday our Family Doctor wanted me to double her Diabetic Medication, but I could not find that on her list. I thought it could be under a Generic Name so called the Health First Pharmacy that we deal with. After I explained the problem Dan assured me the last time she’d had anything like that was over Four Years ago.
Since
the Doctor’s Office
for Internal Medicine had called on Friday, I
tried calling them back. Nobody answered the phone and when it went
to Voice Mail the message said “The Message Box is
too full to leave a Message. Please try again
later”, then hung up. I didn’t get the feeling of confidence
hearing that for the second time today.
I waited until 1:00 this afternoon before calling our Family Doctor’s Office. After describing what he had said last week to his receptionist, and what I had found out today, she had him call me back. When I spoke to George, I reviewed what prescriptions Kathy was taking and what the Pharmacist had told me. He said he would FAX the new Prescription in immediately and wants to hear how Kathy is doing on Wednesday. They must be miracle drugs if he expects them to work that fast. He said he would also recall the Specialist. They always have a second Phone Number available to other doctors only.
As soon as I verified with the Pharmacy that they had received the Fax we were out the door. Dan explained these new medications to me and the Concern that if they did not work like the Doctor wanted, Kathy could end up on Insulin.
It was minutes before 5:00 so we headed to Wendy’s where we had their Grilled Chicken Wraps for supper. Surprisingly they are loaded with cubed pieces of Chicken.
We made it home just on time for the 6 o’clock Local News. We’ll be seeing more Cold and White days but, there is a chance it could be in the low Forties for next Monday.
We found a Murder Mystery to watch tonight.
I’m hoping the Melatonin works as well tonight.

Oops sounds like someone forgot to go over the meds list.
ReplyDeleteEvery time we go to the Dr they go over the list of meds we're on even the vitamins we take.
Hope everything turns out ok.
Stay warm and healthy.
Our Docs also review our list at every visit. We keep a copy of our wallets.
