It took long enough after my Hip Surgery (10 Days) to be able to sleep in bed again, that I’m now feeling disappointed, because I seem to be going backwards. After all the Years of welding, before modern Welding Shields were developed, it took its toll on my Neck that has been full of Arthritis for Decades. Though not always successful, one way to fight the progression is to exercise. By breaking up the Arthritis it is like oiling a rusty hinge. The unfortunate part, is my Surgeon didn’t have faith in me to only do upper body exercises and restricted me from going to the Gym before the holidays.
Recently, I’ve taken more Pain Medication for my Neck than my Hip. Last night after staring at the ceiling in Pain and not sleeping, I finally got up around 4:00. My recliner seemed to be calling my name, so after tipping back I simply closed my Eyes. When I realized the Pain had stopped I noticed the time was nearly 7:00. I went back to bed, but never fell back to sleep and simply got up around 7:45.
I had breakfast planned and was just turning on our Computers when Kathy joined me. She had sensed my absence through the night but simply figured it was a bathroom break. Another thing was that she sleeps with her arms on top of the covers and her hands were cold as ice. I had slept in my recliner without covers and was toasty warm. There’s that much temperature difference between the rooms.
Between our Blueberry covered Cereal and later lunch I was far from hungry but just didn’t feel right. There were also 30 MPH (50 KMH) Wind Gusts vibrating our Balcony Rails, so together they changed my mind about going out shopping today.
The 6 o’clock Local News had just started as we sat down for supper. Kathy was excited about the Sauteed Spinach, Brussels Sprouts, Potato Slices and Bacon wrapped Cheese Dogs with Carbonated Juice (Fake Wine) as a drink. We also finished the last of our Dutch Chocolate Frozen Yogurt for dessert.
We did watch a Hallmark Christmas Movie this evening and if I can’t sleep tonight, I know what to do.
