As mentioned in last night’s Blog, today was going to be busy and with the steady overnight/early morning Rain we were having it turns out to be the day that we would both sleep until nearly 8:00. We had breakfast and sat at the Computers long enough to drink our Coffees. That meant checking The Weather Network, checking Local News, and checking E-Mail was all the time we had.
Tyler driving his Intrepid.
After wrapping everything in Plastic Bags to prevent it from getting wet and loading the missed Gifts, along with a Birthday Bag that will be delivered before we leave in November. We also did the same to the last of the Wrapping Paper before heading out the door by 9:30. By doing that now gives us room to move in our Home without having to run an Obstacle Course.
We had a Princess in attendance today.
Our first destination was Guardian Storage in Windsor where we collected our latest Mail. We then drove back to our Climate Controlled Storage Unit where we quickly stored the last of the Gifts. It was at that point the Rain stopped as if Nature knew that it couldn’t mess up our Gifts anymore.
Wondering what is he doing.
The distance between these Storage Buildings is about Twenty Feet which means people can load or unload their vehicles and another can easily pass by. When we came out from our Unit to leave a woman was parked at the other end of our building with all her Doors and Hatch open parked right in the middle. Since someone else had parked behind us I cautiously edged by her vehicle. She practically ran out of her unit, gesturing like what am I doing. Kathy didn’t want me telling her she was being a Parking-Hog.
Pre-Meal Snack Table. More arrived later.
Our next stop was at Walmart. While Kathy went to pick up our Cake/Cupcake Order at the Bakery I went to pick up some Distilled Water for our CPAP Machines. We were on our way in less than Fifteen Minutes.

Since it was then 11:30 we stopped at Wendy’s to have lunch off the Value Menu. It was satisfying enough and a deal at only $7.19 for the both of us.
Kylla and Ashley.
We arrived at Karen’s house in Tecumseh just after noon as they were scrambling. Due to the sudden change of weather, Cooler Temperatures and Rain what was supposed to be an outdoor event would be changed to an indoor event. Kathy and I immediately started helping to get what they were too busy to do completed. Kathy was organizing things while I took up vacuuming. Before long things were looking better and their stress level dropped.
Hotdogs, Corn on the Cob, Chicken (under the foil)
four different Salads and Roasted Potatoes.
There were still a bunch of errands that still needed to be run. In order for One person not to have to do it all by themselves, Greg had Tyler drive him in his Intrepid (giving him more practice time behind the wheel) while Kylla and Karen both took off in their own vehicles. That left Sanford in charge to entertain us for a Half Hour.
Did Some say Food?.
Our granddaughter Ashley arrived around 2:00 allowing her a little time to visit with Karen and Greg. Around 3:00 part of the Kitchener group started arriving but by 4:00 everyone had arrived which was the time set for supper but something happened that would delay the meal. The Rain stopped, the Clouds disappeared and the Sun actually made an appearance. All the little ones that wanted to go swimming made mad dash for the Pool. Only the younger adults braved the cooler Water that the Children enjoying.
Cupcakes, Pineapple Squares, Cake and Four different types
f Homemade Fudge.
Most had brought food to add to the already bulging buffet so there were plenty of Leftovers to share. It was after 6:30 when Kathy brought out all the sweets for everyone to enjoy. It was funny watching the little ones licking the Oversized Roses from the tops of the Cupcakes like an Ice Cream Cone and wearing it like Makeup.
The Red Icing tasted wonderful.
While having a cup of Tea to wash everything down Ashley had the chance to show us a small fraction of the pictures she’s taken while away teaching in Spain. Even though some were spending the night around 8:00 as some of the Kitchener group packed up to head back this evening. Kathy and I also said our Good Byes.
This what we came Home to this Sky.
Once we were Home we wound down by having a Hot Apple Cider Drink. We have a few appointments next week but hope to get other things accomplished in the meantime. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.

  1. So nice that you had your very own "little princess" in your presence. She's adorable.

Looks like you had a blast at your reunion--lovely family.
