Wakeful Night, Wrapping Together and Larger Bags Needed.

Our Location today is at McGregor, Ontario, Canada.

Even though after cooling down inside our Air-Conditioned Trailer it took until after supper before I was able to return outside to do more work on our friend Kathie’s project. There is still more to do before it’s finished.

After going to sleep last night I suddenly woke up staring at the ceiling around 3:00 and couldn’t fall back to sleep for over an Hour. I took a Tylenol and sat at the Computer for just about another Hour before finally feeling tired enough to sleep.

I was staring at the Ceiling again later but this time the Sun was peeking around the Window Shades and the Clock indicated it was 8:00 in the morning. When I started walking around, it felt like I had a Headache which was due to not getting enough sleep which replenishes the Oxygen Levels in the Blood Stream.

I had everything ready for breakfast and barely turned on the Computer when Kathy came downstairs. By 9:00 The Weather Network was showing the Humidex at 97 F (36 C) and rising to an afternoon high of 106 F (41 C). The forecast for tomorrow will only be in the upper 80’s so I decided to wait for that.

After lunch Kathy and I teamed up at doing Christmas Gift Wrapping something I have done for well over Thirty Years. For those reading this that can’t understand why we are doing this now, here is the explanation.

Since we celebrate Christmas and our Canadian Thanksgiving together we give everyone their Gifts on that day. Our granddaughter Ashley will be leaving at the end of August to teach English in Spain just like last year so we have to give her Gifts before she leaves.

We did all our Christmas Shopping in Arizona for this year while everyone else was shopping for 2017 we were shopping for 2018. Things in the stores in the Southwest will not make it to our area until this fall if ever.

When everyone was celebrating Happy New Year, we were celebrating that we had finished this year’s Christmas Shopping. When we were forced to empty our Trailer this April we had to pack those Gifts in our Climate Controlled Storage Unit in big boxes.

Because I will be having Cataract Surgery in August, I will be restricted in how much I can lift so now is the perfect time for this. It will be nice to have it done and put away before we actually have our celebration of “Merry Thanksmas” in October with the rest of the family.

Kathy was packaging items in Boxes at the table and I was wrapping them on the Kitchen Counter. Kathy also wrote the name to who the Gift was going so she managed to get way ahead of me.

That gave her time to put the wrapped Gifts into Bags along with the other gifts that person will be receiving. This is where we ran into a problem. The Gift Bags were way too small and as more of them started showing the same problem we had to remedy the situation.
Storm heading for the Park.
Every day we have these High Humidex readings they also forecast the Chance of Severe Thunderstorms. We only got Rain but it was enough to clean the dust off the Escape.

It was just after 5:00 when we headed to Amherstburg to pick up bigger bags. Not knowing how many stores we would have to visit to get all our supplies we agreed that we should eat first. We chose Soup and Salads and we both had the Italian Vegetable Soup along with a Diet Soda and we shared a Greek Wrap. Those wraps are so full that we are always stuffed when we leave.

Our next stop was Dollarama where we figured we would walk every aisle for exercise as well as if we had forgotten to add something to our List and we spotted it we would just get it. We found the Gift Bags that are meant for Thicker (Not Heavier) Gifts that would take care of the Stuffed Gift Bags back at Home.

Even though we both have Laptops we both have issues using the Touchpad so choose to use a Cordless Mouse. Our’s are now over Five Years Old and are giving us problems. Dollarama has been selling Cordless Mice for $4.00 so we picked a couple of those up while we were at it. We lucked out and found everything at the One Store at Reasonable Prices.
That's Rain on the windshield as we head for Home.
On our way back to Wildwood Golf and RV Park we could see what appeared to be large Storm Clouds in that direction. When we arrived Home, there were water puddles on all the streets.

The new Cordless Mice are working great and we’ve change some of the Gift Bags already. Not sure what we’ll be up to tomorrow. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.

  1. No way to wriggle out of it, Rick. You and Kathy are what I would like to be--organized. I understand the difference in dates, etc., but just the fact that you keep track of that is more than I could do.

Boy, it sure sounds like you could use some relief from heat. It's hot and muggy, here, today, but not 106. I am a believer that the humidity is what gets to us in the southeast.

When we used to visit my sister and brother-in-law in Reno, it could be in the 90s and we never knew it, and every day like clock work a breeze would show up. Their daughter and her husband had been big rig drivers and were all over the country and settled on Reno because they thought it had the most ideal weather in the country.

I almost forgot about "the mouse". I had trouble getting used to the pad, as well, but eventually I did get used to it after I no longer sat at a desk with my computer.
