Wrapping More Things Up.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

Since we don’t want to turn the heat on in the apartment sooner than we really have to last night we slept with the windows closed. Why would we do a thing like that you ask. Last night’s temperature dropped to the freezing mark with a Wind Chill that made it cooler yet.  The cooler temperatures were also good at keeping the covers on which helped us to both sleep undisturbed until it was time to get up. I was wide awake by 7:30 and Kathy woke just before 8:00 this morning.

The Weather Channel looked a bit more promising today showing the temperature to reach 52 F (11 C) for a high with plenty of sunshine and far less wind. After breakfast we busied ourselves on the computers until it was time to finish a few more chores.

The first thing I did was to wrap our Air Conditioner for the winter since we’re not expecting any temps in the high eighties anytime soon and to keep the cold air out. Once I was done with that Kathy took over cleaning the balcony door windows. It seems no matter how often she cleans them within a few days they are nearly as dirty as before.

I headed to the truck to find a particular screwdriver that I needed for another job. Once I had what I wanted I retrieved a letter from the car that we kept forgetting to mail and walked over to the local Post Office to finally send it on its way.

Setting our working table cover on the dining table I then started disassembling a small sized vertical fan that we have in our bedroom that helps circulate the air when it gets too warm. For some reason it just didn’t seem to move the air the way it used to. When I opened the casing I was surprised to find a large amount of dust that had built up inside it. There was also a sticker that had once been pasted to the inside of the casing had become dislodged and was now filling over half the birdcage of the fan. Once it was totally cleaned and reassembled the fan moved the air the way it used to.

Having soup to warm up and a half sandwich for lunch we managed a few more minutes at the computer before we headed out the door. With the sun shining it felt good to be on the road.

We soon arrived at the new Belle River Arena to watch our Grandson Tyler’s hockey team play. If you recall Kathy and I never paid any attention to sports until our grandsons got involved. Another thing you might recall is that our grandson Tyler and his friend Ethan were away with their families last weekend and are again away on a school outing this weekend. Kathy has become a big fan of this team to the point where we haven’t missed any of their games so far. Kathy has also researched online the meaning of the different signals the Referees are indicating when the give a penalty that she tells me and others around her what they are.

As I have been saying lately about this team even when they don’t have a full team on the bench those that are playing put their hearts into the game. Tyler’s team was playing the way they should and had the game at three nothing in their favor. The Referees called two penalties that I saw totally different. This put the team down by two players at which point the other team was finally able to score. Afterwards as soon as the puck dropped on center ice the forward broke away with it and scored the last goal of the game which ended 4 – 1 in favor of Tyler’s team.

On the way home we stopped for a short visit with our daughter Karen. We told her about the game results while she showed us the family pictures that they had recently had done. Poor Sanford was disappointed that I wouldn’t go outside to play ball in the muddied up backyard with him.

Tomorrow we’ll try to get more things ready before we head south in under 68 days. Kathy and I are presently sitting at the computers feeling chilled to the bone. We might need to reconsider the heat. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

Krackers

A guy walks into a bar and there's a horse serving drinks.

The horse asks, "What are you staring at? Haven't you ever seen a horse tending bar before?"

The guy says, "It's not that. I just never thought the parrot would sell the place."
