Ready to Roll.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

For the second night in a row I slept like a log only waking just before 8:00 this morning. Kathy did sleep better with only a few wakeful moments throughout the night. This was not only going to be a busy day of doing some last minute running around but the weather forecast was to be almost summerlike. The recent temperatures have been far from seasonal and we are amazed to hear of places in the Prairie Provinces still receiving Snow.

We had talked of stopping off for a quick visit with our daughter Karen before we left so that was the first place we went to. Unfortunately the only one there was Sanford and even though we could tell he was happy to see us by the wag of his tail he wasn’t much into talking with us.

We then went over to Home Hardware to pick up our Big Buddy catalytic heater that we ordered. This will help keep us warm when we are dry camping and use much less propane than our furnace. This particular model has three heat ranges can heat up to a 400 square foot trailer and can use the small one pound bottles or be connected to a larger propane cylinder.

We then headed over to Canadian Tire to pick up another closet organizer like Kathy bought the other day. The first one worked so well in the closet at the apartment she got another to put in the trailer.

We then headed back to the apartment to have Homemade Tomato Cheese Soup for lunch. This helped us to clean up more things from our fridge that we can’t bring across the international border with us and it’s not being wasted or thrown away. Once lunch was finished we loaded our clothes and electronics into the truck that we needed to bring to the trailer and headed out.

Arriving at the trailer the first thing we did was to turn on the refrigerator so we could later load it with the food we can bring with us. While Kathy put away the clothes in the drawers I stored some tools in the basement. Kathy also installed her organizer and said it worked like a charm. Back inside I was then able to store the printer as well as other things under the bed before removing things that we won’t need until next winter.

The temperature only hit 82 F this afternoon in our area but with the humidity the 6 o’clock News said it felt more like 93 F. When we left the trailer we felt worn out because we didn’t open many windows so by the time we got back to the apartment we needed to sit and relax for a bit.

Around 4:00 we went back to Karen’s for our visit. She told us she had been to Physiotherapy this morning. We talked about a number of things and she was surprised that we were leaving tomorrow even though we had told her many times before. The inability for her to remember things is all the result of her injury from the accident.

We had salad, baked potatoes, pickled cucumbers and pork chops for supper. Again food we couldn’t bring with us and would have gone to waste if we hadn’t eaten them. Once the dishes were washed we packed everything from the fridge that we could and brought it out to the trailer.

Tomorrow morning when we leave we’ll only have the essentials to bring that couldn’t go to the trailer tonight. Since we do not want to get tied up in morning rush hour traffic we’ll just take our time leaving. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

  1. Safe travels, we take all our food with us except fresh fruit and vegetables, declared at the boarder and have not had a problem in the last few years.
