Short Moving Day.

Our Location today is Crystal River, Florida.

Kathy was only in bed a half hour ahead of me last night but was shocked when she got up that I had packed all the computers, chairs and tables away in the back room of the trailer. As we sat having our breakfast we both noted something else that was strange. For this having been a pretravel night somehow we both slept like a couple of logs only waking momentarily when the rain really intensified around 3:00. Having both awakened just before 8:00 we took our time having breakfast before packing the remainder of things in the trailer.

Kathy finished the inside and while wearing my rain gear I emptied and flushed the tanks before destabilizing the trailer. The rain made closing up a little more time consuming but again we were in no real hurry and we were on our way before the 11:00 checkout time.

The rain seem to come and go in waves but after only twenty minutes we stopped at the Walmart in Chiefland where we needed to shop for a barbeque cover. When we were about to leave we noted it was noon hour and walked across the parking lot to Burger King where we enjoyed a new Rib sandwich for lunch. Again we just took our time because we didn’t have far to travel. Walking back to the truck the rain seemed to become lighter than it had been earlier.
Now we were on our way to Nature Coast RV just inside the boundaries of Crystal River. Last March when we were in the area I had ordered AC and Heat vents with dampers in them. Unfortunately some of the order didn’t arrive until after we had left the area. Instead of asking for a refund I said ship them to the campground in Bushnell that we be going to in two weeks. When we arrived the package was there minus one wall mount heat vent but with a note to call them. They said they had just received the part but would refund me for it. Since we already had reservations for Rock Crusher Park for today I told him to put my name on the part and I’d pick it up on this date. They were surprised to see me nine months later but my part was waiting. That’s what you call good service.

The rain had now stopped and within twenty minutes of leaving Nature Coast RV we were pulling into Rock Crusher Canyon RV Park. They had our package ready and five minutes later we were on our way to the same site we had last January. In less than five minutes we had the trailer parked and were starting to get set up for the next month. There was a problem. The person who had just moved from our site had a large dog that he didn’t pick up after. A helpful neighbor who has a dog helped clean his mess and then went to the office and reported the mess. Ann came back from the office saying that person had denied having a pet. Their file is now marked and he’ll be denied access to camp here in the future.

Since it had stopped raining Kathy thought barbecuing a couple of burgers on our Weber would be nice. I just finished setting it all up and the rain came back with a vengeance. Oh well burgers tomorrow. Our total trip for the day was only 83.5 miles. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
