Our Location today is Crystal River, Florida.
Amazing how getting fresh air really helps a person to sleep
through the night. Unfortunately last night because of the heavy rain that we
were experiencing we couldn’t have the window open like the night before but
that didn’t seem to matter. When we woke just before 8:00 the thermometer
outside said it was 46 F (18 C) and we actually turned on the cube heater to
take the chill from the air.
Once breakfast was over we did our usual morning reading and
then we planned on the remainder of the day. Shortly after 11:00 I was calling
around to the nearby Verizon locations to find one that was considered to be a
Corporate outlet. Because we are Canadians and we have a prepaid MiFi hotspot
through Verizon they always give us a hard time because the credit card we use
to pay for it does not have an American address. So now tomorrow the Verizon
Corporate outlet will be able to reset it hopefully for the last time this
year.
Kathy was at it again in the kitchen as she still had some leftovers
she wanted to finish for lunch it was delicious as always and I forgot to take
a picture until it was all gone.
Last night when we came home in the middle of the rainstorm
we found water dripping from the antenna crank so today I was up on the roof to
find out why. The sealer that was applied around the cable that went through
the roof was no longer there so I also inspected around all the vents where I noted
other potential leaks about to begin. It only took a short while and now the
rain will be staying on the outside of the trailer.
Kathy had been busy shampooing the carpets inside and now
that I was off the roof had some clothes she wanted to hang on our bumper
mounted clothes line.
Yesterday we had picked up a 3M seal to replace the worn
seal at the bottom of the shower door. After cutting it to size and attaching
it I was disappointed when it simply fell off. The old seal was the thickness
of an old shower curtain and what I was putting on was meant for an exterior
door seal which had not one but three sweeps on it. I had to remove one of the
sweeps for clearance and then I had to scrape off the non-adhesive tape and
replace it with new 3M tape I keep in my tool box. We'll see how that works tonight.
As I was closing up from that a few of the neighbors stopped
to talk about different things I had done to the truck and Darlene stopped to
chat with Kathy who was taking a break outside under the awning.
After supper there was an Ice Cream social down at the
clubhouse so Kathy and I went down for our desert and we got to talk with a few
of the other people that also attended. A sundae only cost $3.00 but Kathy and I
both agreed that what they served was worth much more than that.
Kathy and I would like to welcome Laurel and George Owens as
our latest followers. Their blog Owens on the Road is
very colorful and unique as they combine the enjoyment of RV living and
work-camping their way around the U.S.A. We’ve been following them since we
read about the meeting of the Carolina Gang and we got to meet them first hand
at the gathering of RV Bloggers at Crackers last Wednesday. Thanks again for
following along with us.
Four scoops of Ice Cream and enough toppings for a sugar rush. |
Tomorrow we’ll have some errands to run before we get back
to our next adventure. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a
comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about time.

It really rained quite hard didn't it! Some pretty awesome lightning too!
ReplyDeleteGlad you found the leak so easily. Sometimes they can be tricky to locate. Google Eternabond sometime. It's what we have on our roof instead of caulk. Once you put it on, you never have to redo it and no more worries about leaks.
ReplyDeleteWe got over the Verizon deal with our Credit card and just bought a REFILL card at Dollar General. Just need to take it to any Dollar General and add money instantly goes onto you account, waiting for you to renew it. So easy.
