Technical Problems.

Our Location today is Crystal River, Florida.

We'll take this moment to apologize for the lack of pictures in today's blog. Between problems with Blogger and Verizon we are technically unable to upload any pictures tonight.

After sleeping in until 7:30 this morning we quickly had breakfast so we could see what the weather was sending our way. Since it was supposed to be warming up to 64 F (18 C) this morning with rain predicted for this afternoon I thought that I’d have time to finish cutting the slots for my project before lunch.

By 9:00 the temps had reached the peak for the day so first thing I did was to retrieve the laundry bags from the basement so I can pack them tonight. Then I set up to continue chipping away slowly making progress. Kathy came outside to do some reading and to keep me company.

The tapping of the mallet on the chisel attracted the attention of our neighbor immediately behind us. Paul expressed his amazement that in today’s day and age that I was sitting there “Doing It Old School”. His wife Brenda was also amazed at the list of modifications that Kathy listed that I have already done to the trailer and what I still plan on doing to it in the near future.

By 11:00 Mother Nature wasn’t waiting any longer and it started to rain. Paul and Brenda scurried back to their trailer to close the windows. Thinking I could continue working under our gazebo I carried on another ten minutes until the rain increased and the wind started changing its direction. After gathering my tools and materials and Kathy grabed her book we both dashed into the dryness of the trailer.

After lunch we spent time making phone calls to people we tried to reach yesterday. I was only able to leave a message with a co-worker of Michael’s at Verizon so he’ll call in the morning as he was off today. Kathy was able to contact Jennifer at The Glades RV Park where we will be going after we leave Rock Crusher. She informed her we were stopping to get a modification to our trailer done on the way down and we’d be a couple of days late.

Listening to the rain coming on and off in waves we got caught up on our blog reading. By 3:30 we took off thinking we’d stop at Taco Bell for supper before going for groceries at Walmart. As we drove towards Crystal River we changed our minds and wanted some Barbecued food instead. Last year when we were in the area we drove by a place that had old cars and trucks outside but didn’t stop. In the last two and a half weeks we have driven by the same place at least six times so today we made a point of stopping in.

Driving into the parking lot at Cody’s Roadhouse on US 19 in Crystal River it was hard to find a spot to park in their large parking lot. Inside we were quickly seated and it was only a minute before Erika our waitress came over to see what we’d like to drink and to make suggestions on what to eat. Our meal started with unlimited house salad and fresh baked sweet dinner rolls with whipped Cinnamon butter. We could have made a meal just on those items alone. Kathy ordered a Surf and Turf of Lobster Tail and Fillet Mignon with a baked potato of which she said was made to perfection. I had planned on ordering a half rack of Barbecued Back Ribs with Sweet Potato Fries but Erika said I could always take the rest home since it was only a couple dollars difference in price. Even though I had a steak knife to use I was cutting the meat from the bones with my fork. Before I knew what had happen I’d eaten the entire slab and I didn’t feel stuffed.

Kathy and I both gave this dining experience two thumbs up. The ambience, the service and the food were all excellent. It cost more than Taco Bell but well worth it and we’ll definitely be returning sometime in the future and highly recommend it to anyone looking for an excellent meal in a casual setting. The only bad thing was we didn’t bring the camera to show you what we enjoyed.

We spent the next hour and a half walking around Walmart wearing off our supper and getting some grocery supplies. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
