More Projects and Set-up.

Our Location today is Crystal River, Florida.

Last night we slept so well that we were wide awake by 7:00. I think the fact that we didn’t freeze last night had a lot to do with it. The Weather Network predicted a clear sunny day with a high of 64 F (18 C) so that was enough to make plans to work outside on one of the projects that I had brought along to work on. But since it was still early and it was only 41 F (5 C) at the time it was a perfect time to get caught up on reading on the computers.
After getting ready to go outside I took the time to make a few phone calls one was to our phone company back home. We had made plans to have our phone, cell phones, television and internet suspended while we are here in Florida to save on service costs. All our services had stopped functioning but our E-mail addresses were still receiving messages. Finally after twenty minutes on the phone with a tech he explained there was a change to the system where we would continue to receive messages but would not be able to send anything from those addresses. He also guaranteed me that I would not be charged for its use while we are gone.
The next call was made to a marine service called Ard’s in Lakeland Florida. Surprisingly they were there today a holiday for most who recognized Martin Luther King Day. We made the appointment for the day following our departure from Rock Crusher RV Park. They do custom boat covers and will be custom making a Storage Skirt (Shed) for the front of our fifth wheel because of its aerodynamic design of the nose piece the ones at Camping World would not fit. Dave gave me instructions on how to get to their property where we will spend the night and should be heading out the next day. The next call was to a campground in Moore Haven to let them know we’d be delayed on our arrival but got a message to call back or leave a message because today is a holiday.
I brought the materials outside to sort them by which project they were and get the tools for the job at hand. When I cut the material to size from the printer stand that I recycled I didn’t have time to Dado needed slots so after laying out the pieces to be modified I started doing the job the old fashioned way with a mallet and chisel.
Baked apples for dessert.
By this time Kathy called me for lunch where we had more of the delicious Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup she had made yesterday. The flavor seems to get better the more it melds together.
Back outside the heat from the sun was getting intense so I decided to erect our portable Gazebo that we had purchased last May. There was a slight problem getting it to spread but with Kathy’s help if finally went up the way it was supposed to. Having finished her inside chores Kathy came outside to sit nearby reading and occasionally talking with me while I continued chipping away at my project on the picnic table. A few of our neighbors stopped by briefly to chat and were amazed at what I was doing in a campground.
For supper I grilled a couple of pork chops and grilled a couple of buns while Kathy cooked the corn and macaroni inside the trailer. It was another great meal but once supper was finished my job outside was as well because as soon as the sun starts to drop the cold breeze starts.
Kathy and I would like to welcome our newest blog follower Bill Holtsbaum who also has a blog The Adventure is inthe Journey. His family is young and after graduating through the different stages of camping they purchased a retro 1973 Winnebago, affectionately named Walter to travel throughout Western Canada and the Northwestern United States. We are looking forward to read more about this families upcoming adventures with Walter. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

  4. Sure nice to see that sun come out again. Really windy down here and a quick rain storm but the sun is shining again. I hope that cold weather has gone back up north.
