Our Location today is Crystal River, Florida.
Back at home we often times were frustrated by some of our
services but in the end it always seemed to work out. As I mentioned last night
we have a Verizon Hotspot for our MiFi that we bought last year so that we can
suspend when we won’t be travelling in the US longer than three months. It works
great when Bureaucracy doesn’t get in the way. The second day of our trip south
we reactivated the hotspot and purchased additional usage for when the month
would expire.
The first problem which should not be a problem is that Kathy
went online to upgrade our profile by changing the E-mail address associated
with the account. This action automatically locked up our account causing major
problems with our MiFi use. The next problem is that our home address is in
Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada. That means we are not US citizens and they cannot accept
our legitimate address on our account so they made one up partly in Ontario and
partly in Kansas. Well Toto we’re not in Kansas and Verizon should start
accepting Canadian addresses for the snowbirds who wish to use their service.
We were at the Inverness Verizon location after 11:00 this
morning only because the GPS wanted us to visit nothing in a deserted field
more than a mile away. Our problem was passed on to Michael the assistant
manager for this Corporate Office location. The last five times we haul the
computers with us and nobody needed them but now Michael needed it. Making
certain that he would be working until later in the evening we assured him we’d
be back.
We made the mistake of stopping at Golden Corral for lunch
which worked great for the wallet but even though we didn’t overeat we overate.
That was at 11:30 this morning and having breakfast tomorrow morning might be
too soon.
After making the forty mile round trip we got back to Verizon
only to have to wait for Michael to get back from his lunch. Once he was back
on the job he worked on and off between making phone calls to Corporate
Headquarters in Somewhere USA. He finally came back to tell us that Verizon was
going to Mail (US Post Office) to the non-existent address they created for us
how to fix this problem. Upon my suggestion that they mail it to the Inverness
Verizon location in care of himself Michael recalled Corporate Headquarters
with a change of mailing address. Now we are hoping to finish this problem up
on the weekend. After pulling out of their driveway into the next we stopped at
Walmart to pick up a few food stocks to tide us over for a while longer in the
grocery department.
It turned into a beautiful sunny day without a trace of the
rain that was predicted for us. Thanks for following along and feel free to
leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about time.

Cleaning Your Desk: Step 3
Clean. Thoroughly. Squirt cleaner until your eyes water, and scrub. Now look
again. What do you think about that pile (of stuff removed from your desk) now?
Anything that threatens your desk's sanctity should be thrown away. You don't
need paper, pens go in drawers, and urgent matters get a file in a drawer, not
atop your desk.

Sorry to hear you are having so many issues with your internet! Did you look into Millenicom at all? Not sure if they have issues with Canadian addresses or not . . .
ReplyDeleteEgads what a mess. Hope you get the Verizon issue under wraps very shortly.
ReplyDeleteARGGHH on Verizon... we found going to an "official" store you don't get a lot of help. But if you go to a local agent who owns his own store and just contracts for Verizon, he gets us through and fixed in no time....
ReplyDeleteGo figger!
