Appointment With Road Construction.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Each time I settled down to sleep in my Recliner or Bed, I slept for at least an Hour before staring at the ceiling. Moving back and forth, the last time I was in Bed, I woke to being there by myself and the Alarm going off. I’m having issues with wax buildup in my Right Ear and was laying on my left, so hardly heard it. Kathy was sitting in her Recliner, without her Hearing Aides waiting for me to get up, she didn’t hear the Alarm.

After a quick Snack for breakfast, it wasn’t long before we were heading out. With her Heart Condition causing breathing problems in the Heat, Kathy actually waited for me inside the rear entrance to our building, while I brought the Car around.

You’ve been reading on some of our other Blogs about all the Road Construction in our region that’s going on. Today as we tried to make our way across the City, more Flashing Signs and Barrels were being left along more roads, that will be added to the list of mayhem starting next Wednesday. That means, we’ll have to allow even more travel time, getting anywhere.

We only manged to arrive Ten Minutes early for our Appointment with our Family Doctor. The place was packed, something I haven’t seen since before Covid. That meant we were brought in over a Half Hour late, but there was even more waiting to come as we could hear Babies crying.

George already had all the results of the Tests other Doctors had sent us for. It saves us from worrying about things, because it’s another Month before we can see them again. We’ll be back at the end of the summer to see George.

It was nearly noon when we headed back towards the east end. Kathy said breakfast was gone and we should be having lunch. It’s been Years since we stopped at KFC, but with all the ads seen on television we thought we’d give them another try. It was decent, but the reason for the low prices is because of the smaller portions. Kathy appreciated sitting in the Air Conditioning to have lunch.

Further up the road I again dropped Kathy at the door to the Zehr’s grocery store, while I parked. With a smaller Refrigerator in our Apartment than we used to have in our older RV, there are some things that we can’t overstock on. Kathy appreciated walking around inside the cooler temperatures of the store. Unfortunately, she didn’t wait for me to retrieve the Car and suffered for it. Walking outside in the 115 F (46 C) Humidex felt natural to me, after working around the Molten Metal of the Casting Plants. Not everyone feels comfortable doing so.

Kathy didn’t argue when I dropped her at the front entrance to our building and really appreciated the fact we had left our AC running in our Apartment, when we left this morning. I even had to catch my breath after using the Folding Two Wheeled Shopping Cart to get everything upstairs.

One thing about warm weather is it dampens your appetite. We shared a Store-Bought Thin-Crust Medium Hawaiian Pizza with extra Pineapple, for supper after 7:00.

We later watched and episode of “Criminal Minds” then the “11 o’clock Local News”. Looks like the weather roller coaster is going to continue, but just with higher temperatures.
