Another Appointment Down, Great Discount, Lots of Stops and Fun Visits

Our Location today is McGregor, Ontario, Canada.

After setting the alarm clock again last night we hoped that we’d sleep soundly until in went off. That was not to be the case because around 6:00 this morning I started shivering uncontrollably. We’d forgot to turn the furnace on and the outside temperature was down around 41 F (5 C). Realizing what the problem was I didn’t spend too much time turning on the furnace before jumping back under the covers.
Definitely looking like Fall this morning.
When the alarm went off before 8:00 for the second morning in a row Kathy could only say she didn’t want to get up but knew this appointment was for herself. It didn’t take long to get dressed and finish our morning chores because Kathy had to fast before having blood work done. We were out the door by 8:15 headed for Windsor.
We only had to stop for two school buses picking up our future work force. We finally arrived at Kathy’s Family Doctor’s Office by 8:50 and the waiting room was filling up fast. When the doctor finally saw Kathy she once again used two different Blood Pressure Machines to verify that Kathy’s Blood Pressure has in fact greatly improved. She told Kathy to enjoy her southern travels and she would see her in the spring. Unfortunately, Kathy couldn’t leave the office before having Blood Tests done and getting her Flu Shot.
When Kathy has to fast I do the same so that she doesn’t suffer while I eat so once the appointment was over it was then time to go for breakfast. We used a couple of coupons we had and ate at A&W where we enjoyed a tasty meal of Bacon, Eggs, Hash-Browns, Toast and Hot-Chocolate at a very reasonable price.
Our next stop was the Wholesale Club on Dougal where we stocked up on Halls cough drops and Tic-Tac breath mints that we’ll be taking with us on our trip because we can’t seem to find them when we travel in the U.S.
Next we stopped at Guardian Storage where we first got our Mail before going back to our Climate Controlled Storage Unit. We’ll be attending a wedding tomorrow and we wanted to find slightly dressier clothes to wear than we presently have in our closet.
Moving right along we headed to Princess Auto supply where I had planned on getting some Number 4 Welding Cable for the purpose of wiring for the Inverters and the Solar Panels that will be mounted on the roof. When I got to where the cable was the roll was empty but one of the younger associates looked it up on the computer that said there was another 152 feet in stock. He and a senior associate looked everywhere and couldn’t find it in the store. When the senior associate asked what I was doing and I said adding Solar to our trailer he made me a deal I couldn’t refuse. I walked out with a length of Number 2 Welding Cable for less than what the Number 4 would have cost.
Kathy needed to stop at Dollarama where she wanted to pick up extra foil-pans that have lids. That way when we attend Pot Lucks we don’t have to worry if we get the pan back. She also looked if they had any Shower Caddies but struck out.
Since it was nearly 12:30 and we’d basically walked off our late breakfast we stopped at Harvey’s where we each enjoyed a Chicken Wrap and a Soft Drink for lunch.
We drove over to Walmart where we again struck out on the Shower Caddy but we got most of the groceries Kathy had on her shopping list. Afterwards we continued across the street to the Bulk Barn where we had no problem finding the Red Pepper Flakes that Kathy likes to use in many of her dishes. We would also stop at Canadian Tire and Home Hardware in a vain attempt at finding the style of Shower Caddy needed for our Home.
Even this afternoon the cold wind kept blowing.
We finally made it Home closer to 3:00 this afternoon. By the time I unloaded the car and Kathy put away the groceries she needed a Snap. Due to too many neck injuries throughout my career I needed to exercise. After dropping off the trash I went to the small Workout Room that I just recently found existed behind the Park Clubhouse. It’s amazing what a half hour of exercise can do for you. It may have been 61 F (16 C) feeling colder but I didn’t need a jacket going back to the trailer and my neck was Pain Free.

A simple Grilled Cheese Sandwich was more than enough for supper.
Back at the trailer Kathy had me set up our printer so she could have copies of our Banking Statements. We also needed to make a copy of the receipt for the Special Blood Test I had done yesterday for my eyes. The most important thing that I needed to print was the Special Gift but I’ll have to wait until tomorrow to show it.
The cloudless sky just before Sunset.
It was past 6:00 by the time we headed out for our weekly visit in Amherstburg with our son Kevin and daughter-in-law Melissa. We normally meet on Wednesdays but if something comes up we can be flexible. Our visits are always enjoyable and filled with laughter. Though Melissa is appreciating the cooler temperatures we’d rather it would remain warmer another three weeks which would allow us to be further south by then.
Melissa already decorating for Halloween.
With such a busy day I didn’t have any time to work in the basement setting up the Inverters and wiring for Solar Power but once it is finished I’ll show pictures and explain how it all works. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.
