Easter Breakfast Celebration, Stress Gets To Kathy and Trailer Winterized.

Our Location today is at Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

That was really different sleeping in a bed that wasn’t being moved by the Wind last night. We were both so exhausted from our moving day that our daughter’s family could have had a party going on upstairs and we would have slept right through it.
Sunset in Quartzsite on New Years day
Even with the Privacy Screens we had put up to give us some privacy but allowing access to the Laundry Room as soon as Sunlight started seeping in I was awake. I lay there for a short time before finally getting up. With no Window Shades to raise at 7:30 I simply started getting caught up on reading the Blogs that I’ve missed lately.
Love our Spot in Quartzsite
With all the Fresh Air that we breathed yesterday Kathy slept past 9:00 and only woke when she started hearing movement coming from upstairs. We decided it was a safe bet that we should get dressed before going upstairs for breakfast.
All Sunsets are different.
When we walked in the Kitchen both Karen and Greg were working away at the stove and informed us because this was Easter Sunday and they were making us breakfast. Even though that was not the agreement we had for staying we excepted this Special Invitation. We were treated Bacon, Sausage, Eggs and Hash Browns along with a cup of Tea. It all tasted great and it was a challenge not to overeat. Thanks for the treat Kids. Greg helped me reload the Box-Spring on the Truck and we were on our way by 11:00.
Our destination was Guardian Storage and our first stop was our Climate Controlled Storage Unit. After moving some of the Boxes we had moved yesterday we were able to stand the Box-Spring back along the wall. Once the Boxes were back in place it hardly showed that anything had been moved.
Heading into a Dust Storm.
Our next stop was our Trailer where we wanted to start Packing Things as well as to Winterize the Trailer. That is not a phrase that Fulltimers like to use but in our case a necessity. While Kathy worked inside Packing Things and getting food out of the Fridge and Freezer for tonight’s supper, I busied myself removing things from the Basement. Jayco in their wisdom installed a couple of the Low Point Drains behind the rear Basement Wall. Since it was only 37 F (3 C) everything I removed from the Basement was simply put on the Toneau Cover so that it could be brought to the Storage Unit that was rented for this purpose.
Rain in the desert.
Since we hadn’t eaten anything since breakfast it was just after 2:00 when Kathy got sick so we called it a day so she had a couple of Cookies to settle her stomach. We are guessing that it is nerve related due to the Stress of the upcoming repair. We closed up shop then drove over to the Storage Unit to find someone in the next unit parked in front of ours. He apologized and backed his car up. After putting things in the Storage Container, we wished him a good day and headed back to Tecumseh.
While Kathy was busy setting our supper to cook in the Crockpot I checked the Weather Forecast for our area. Tonight’s low will be 21 F (-6 C) feeling like 14 F (-10 C) with the Wind.
After we had supper I had Kathy stay and visit while I went back to the Trailer at Guardian Storage. I drained the Freshwater Tank, the Water Heater and even dumped the Grey Tanks. After bypassing the Water Heater, I then got the RV Antifreeze pumped throughout the system and made certain there was a generous dose in the Black Tank that we unfortunately had to use.
I was back at Karen’s by 8:30 and needed a Hot Apple Cider to warm up. Even though we have to empty the Trailer and have it at Leisure Trailer by the 10th we have other things we need to do as well. Thanks for following along, feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

  2. I would think what Kathy was feeling was certainly stressed related. I am sure this is not easy for either of you. Hopefully, the repairs will be done in the time frame mentioned and the time goes by faster then you expect.

  4. I know you both have things to get done, but you need to remember to take care of yourselves. Hope it all goes smoothly for you and before you know it you're back in your own home.

  5. It's always hard for me to adjust to the new environment and routine of being in a house and not my RV. I hope Kathy feels better quickly ... I know how that stressed feeling is.

  6. Hopefully things slow down, you both need a rest. Packing is always difficult no matter how big or little the space and you are once again packing up an entire home, that is stressful without question. Try to remember to take some personal time every day, even just a half hour will make a big difference.

    Good luck!
