Heavy Rain, Surprise Construction, Three Bookstores and Shared Meal.

Our Location today is at Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

When we brought our Bedding from the Trailer to our Daughter’s House someone had said that we wouldn’t be needing all our Blankets. Karen’s home is a Four Level House which is very difficult to regulate the Heat so when they are sweating on the upper level we feel like we are in the Trailer downstairs. While at our Storage Unit the other day one of the things we picked up was another Bedsheet. It worked like a charm and we felt toasty warm for the entire night.

Even though we really had no plans for today I made certain that we didn’t sleep as late today other wise it messes up our eating schedule along with when we go to bed again. We figure the Sun is our friend and we always feel better on Sunny Days but that’s not what we had today.

From the time we got up we could hear the Sump-Pump cycling every Five Minutes. When we went upstairs and looked out the Patio Doors it was a grey wall of water coming down. Our breakfast was the rest of the Cinnamon Apple Pie we made yesterday along with our Coffee.

We spent the morning getting caught up on our reading and being entertained by Sanford. Lunch was a bowl of Soup and a Fruit Cup.

Unlike some of the surrounding areas we only had to deal with Rain. Even though we can move around the house quite freely we’ve started to develop Cabin Fever. Like any good RV we didn’t want our actions controlled by the weather so we dawned our Raincoats and headed out.

The largest building to walk around in this area is the Devonshire Mall on Howard Avenue. We were surprised when we turned in the entrance we normally take only to be detoured further around the Building. Since we left to go south last November there has been a major expansion taking place that we didn’t know about.

Inside the first store we looked at was Chapters a very popular book store but Kathy didn’t find anything that interested her. Chapters also has an outside entrance along with another that goes to the Mall. We were amazed at all the interior renovations that are also being made, huge Skylights, moving stores from one location to another and redoing the entire ceiling. We walked the entire building including a few of the stores and were on our way within an Hour.

Our next location was the Tecumseh Mall which is much smaller but I had a special reason for going there. After letting Kathy off as close to the door as possible we stopped at the Bell store. We are not too Tech-Savvy with our Cell Phones so when a problem developed that even Karen our daughter couldn’t figure out I went back to the source. The problem was that some of my Apps would not shut down which if left open will drain your battery very quickly. Turns out that I have fat fingers and as I was attempting to shut the Apps off I was also Pinning them which meant they were staying on. Now that really encourages us to learn more about these things.

We walked around other stores more for the exercise until we ended up at Coles book store. Kathy is an avid reader where I am the puzzle solver. Even though Kathy uses the Free Book-Exchanges as much as she can, she occasionally has to buy books to supplement her reading. Today they were having a Sale and she found a couple of books that caught her interest. Talking with Andrea the clerk she heard about a new Stephen King book titled 11/22/63. Unfortunately, they didn’t have it in stock but with computers connecting all the local bookstores she found the last one in Tecumseh not far from our daughter’s house. A phone call latter it was reserved and we were on our way.

The intense Rain cause the car to Hydroplane a few times but we made it safely to the Indigo bookstore. They had the book set aside with Kathy’s name on it and minutes later we were heading back to Karen’s.

Looking out the Patio Doors there are places in the backyard that are starting to pool the water. For supper we shared a package of Sidekicks that Kathy modified along with some Ham with Karen. It all tasted great, wasn’t overfilling but hit the spot.

The forecast is for a Rain/Snow mix tomorrow but we have things to do and will use our Raincoats to get it done. Thanks for following along, feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

  1. You have given me a great idea. I need to visit the local mall and walk around, just for the exercise. Not the shopping of course, just the walking.
