Cleaning The Patio, Enjoyable Visit and Empty Shelves.

Our Location today is McGregor, Ontario, Canada.

Even though we didn’t spend as much time working on the Patio Extension in the High Humidex yesterday like we did last Friday and Sunday we still slept like a couple of rocks. I think the fact that when the temperature dropped on Monday we shut the A.C. off and opened all the windows which meant we were again getting plenty of fresh air as we slept. I slept so well that I was up before 7:30 this morning and Kathy wasn’t too far behind me.

We had Toast with the last of the Rhubarb Sauce for breakfast before finishing our Coffee/Tea at our Computers. I’m quite surprise to see less RV Blogs being posted lately. Probably because a lot of the Bloggers are not as active during the summer months as they are when they travel south for the winter.

I headed outside shortly after 10:00 this morning wanting to finish cleaning up after the Patio Extension but first I needed to bring a load of Recycle to the Park Trash and Recycle Area. The air was fresh but slightly warmer then yesterday. On the return walk to our site I saw the Grounds Crew busy laying the Sod on the “T-Box” Extension where I had been given permission to dispose of the Clay from the holes we made to plant trees at this location.
It was less then a week since I last mowed the grass,
but it is really keeping the Rabbits well fed.
After mowing our grass with our Black & Decker Mower/Trimmer Kathy and I worked together to move the Picnic Table over to its new spot on the Patio Extension. Thinking ahead to next year we wanted to create an Outdoor Rooms effect so that when we have visitors like our Kids and Grandchildren we can have separate spots for everyone to visit.

Kathy also started cleaning the Patio and Bistro Tables while I set about reinstalling the Patio Umbrella and Holder before positioning our Solar Powered Patio Lights around the Patio Extension

Kathy told me to fire up our Weber Q at noon to grill a couple of Hotdogs to go with the Salad that she was making. Since we have to empty our Fridge and Freezer in twelve days when we take the trailer in for Warranty Work we are trying to keep our purchases low and use up what we have on hand. We washed the dishes before going back outside.

This time Kathy brought out other cleaning supplies to clean our Fresh Water and Waste Barrels. Kathy likes things clean and scrubbed the dirt and stains completely off those White Barrels.

I modified a small Skid by making it even smaller. This will be used to stop the Barrels from rolling from Side to Side when they are laid down in the Truck-Bed for transporting. With that finished I brought out the Stencils that were to be used for labeling the Barrels as we don’t want anyone mistaking what their use is intended for. As most Stencils that you buy they are normally impressed and you need to finish pushing the Letters out but these actually needed cutting. Not being able to locate my X-acto Knife I needed to use my Pocket Knife to do the job.

Just as I was getting ready to start taping the Stencils to the First Barrel Kathy informed me it was nearly 5:00 and time for supper. We had the rest of the Hawaiian Pizza that we grilled on the Weber last night. Kathy simply heated it in the Micro-Wave for one minute and it was perfect. It also tasted as good as last night.

As soon as we finished eating we headed out the door. Since we haven’t used the truck since we picked up the Patio Stones and Brick so it needed a run. We headed to our son Kevin and daughter-in-law Melissa’s house in Amherstburg. This was our first Wednesday night visit since our return from the Southwest because Melissa was attending classes. We were able to sit outside on their Screened in Deck. There was a gentle breeze that kept us all nice and cool.

After having our usual enjoyable visit filled with laughter we said our goodbyes shortly after 8:00 and headed over to Dollarama. Some how we’ve misplaced our Pruning Shears and haven’t bee able to locate them. Thinking we’d just pick some up there we had a big surprise when we found that aisle nearly bare. More people are doing their Landscaping on the cheap.

We went across the street to Walmart where the only thing they had were Hedge Cutters and Pole Trimmers. While I was looking for that Kathy had been getting some Bread and some Vegetables.

With the Weather Guessers forecasting Rain and High Humidexes for tomorrow we might have to find something else to work on. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.

  2. Now that your patio is all done, maybe think about taking a day or two relaxing, that's what our retirement is all about. Walking, exercise, fresh air, reading, making meals is always fun and rewarding for us at least.

  3. Kathy and Rick, yesterday I followed your instructions for cooking corn on the cob in the microwave you posted a few days ago. It was excellent. Thank you for the tip.
    BTW your patio looks great.
