Arriving in Nashville, Opened Package and Starved For Food.

Our Location today is Nashville, Tennessee, U.S.A. 

I had to use the plugs installed in the bedroom for our CPAP equipment in order to post last night’s blog. There just wasn’t enough power in the battery of the computer to do it without any help. Since we were spending the night at Cracker Barrel in Cave City, Kentucky and we were worn out from our busy day with all its trials we once again called it a night by 9:00 CST. We again cycled the furnace before going to bed as well as when we got up just before 6:00 CST this morning to take the chill out of the air. Take into account that the clocks rolled back losing Daylight Savings Time meant that we actually slept for nearly Ten Hours and we still felt tired for the majority of the day. 

As promised when we walked into the Cracker Barrel at 6:20 the place was hopping with people stopping in for an early breakfast. If we stay overnight at any business establishment we try to patronize them as a way of repaying their hospitality. Not being really sure what we’d like to eat we both settled on a Sampler which included two eggs, cheesy home-fries, biscuits, a slice of bacon, a small slice of ham, and a piece of sausage. Along with our coffees we were more than satisfied but not overly full. Not wanting to rush too much we even walked around their country store after finishing our meal. 

Having secured the trailer before we’d gone for breakfast when we got back to the truck Kathy prepped the GPS while I did my final circle check making certain everything on the outside was ready for travel. By 7:15 we were once again headed back to the onramp for I-65 South bound. Within the first few miles we had a special treat as we saw a Hot Air Balloon drifting along east of the highway. The traffic was much lighter because it was an early Sunday morning, yet there were a fair number of Semis on the road. 

After an hour of traveling we crossed into the state of Tennessee where our destination was just around a few more bends. The GPS finally guided us off I-65 and onto the Service Drive back to the Nashville, Tennessee Jellystone Park that will be our Home for the next few days. After only driving 92 Miles for the day we walked in to the office around 9:45 CST and the woman there thought we hadn’t slept in days. (Probably because we couldn’t stop yawning. We always have trouble adjusting to time changes.) By 10:05 we were parked on the road leading to the site we were assigned looking at the back of the trailer that was still there from last night. Check out at this park is noon and some people like to push the limit. (Weekend Warriors) I walked back to the office where the female clerk worked with her outside counterpart to find us a sight. This park is open all year but is far from full as a fact two thirds of it is cordoned off for their yearly Christmas Light Display which is already open.

We were totally unhooked with all our utilities set up and slides out by 11:00 this morning. We were connected to their Super-Fast WiFi by 11:30. Having seen a Camping World up the road as we came in I looked up a few stock numbers of things we planned on adding to the trailer. After a quick phone call to this location I found out one of the items was strictly available On-line but the other they had four sets in stock. 

We fit on Site 701 perfectly as soon as we unhitched.

It probably took us longer to get out of the park because of all their Speed Bumps then to actually drive the half mile down the road to Camping World. Kathy managed to find the Plate Holders at this location that the Belleville, Michigan location had said were discontinued. When I gave the stock number of the Strong arm Stabilizers that I was interested in the Parts Clerk produced a pretty battered box saying that was all he could find. Since I had installed this very same Stabilizer on our Avalanche I told him if anything was missing I’d be back. 

As soon as we were back Home to our trailer the first thing I did was place the box on the picnic table and open it up. The Stabilizer arms were all scratched and chipped, most of the bolts were in a Zip-Lock Bag, some of the brackets were partially assembled and others were missing. I then counted every bolt, nut and washer taking inventory of what was missing. Kathy wasn’t feeling like going back so she stayed Home.  

I had to wait my turn again at the Camping World Parts Counter but when I told him of the missing parts he immediately found another box that we opened to check for parts. The Stabilizer Arms were still wrapped in plastic, the hardware was still in sealed bags, nothing was preassembled and everything was there. When the manager heard about the missing parts he helped bring the complete box out to the truck and brought the other one in himself.

Back Home I simply stowed the Stabilizers away for today and set up the Weber Q so that I could grill some Johnsonville Turkey Brats to go with the Salad Kathy had made for a side. It wasn’t until we had eaten supper that Kathy started feeling better. That was when we realized we hadn’t eaten in nearly ten hours. 

Even though we had planned looking around Nashville we decided just to stick close to Home for the rest of the day. We are so tired we didn’t bother looking at the Christmas Light Display this evening. Hopefully we’ll start feeling like our selves tomorrow. 

Around 7:30 we started feeling chilled but instead of turning on the furnace we simply turned on the Electric Fireplace which helped take the moisture out of the air. We might even leave it on overnight. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
