Our Location today is McGregor, Ontario,
Canada.
By the time we hit the sack last night
we had been exposed to so much fresh air that we were both out before our heads
hit our pillows. Luckily Kathy had taken a Tylenol
to sooth her aching muscles and joints that she had over used yesterday. We were
both up by 8:00 this morning and only spent a few minutes checking our E-mails
and doing the everyday chores before loading the car and heading out by 10:30. With
the threat of possible thunderstorms for this afternoon we couldn’t really get
too involved with outdoor chores. So armed with our lists we tried to get our
running completed in one day.
Another Lily has opened on our plant. |
Our first stop in Windsor was Michaels where we again found a nice
blue coloured paint that Kathy can use on her patio art. She even thought of trying to use a template
to speed up the process but there wasn’t anything that fit the theme she
wanted.
A quick stop at the Dollar Store looking for simple outside tree ornaments to stop the birds
from making nests and defecating on our vehicles proved fruitless. Driving across
the parking lot to Home Depot we managed to get a good
sized bag of Scott’s Grass Seed to
help build up the grass at our site but they had no tree ornaments either. We found
plenty of Wind Chimes but the trees we want to hang them on are only yards away
from our neighbour’s bedroom and we didn’t think they would appreciate
listening to the clatter all night. Before leaving we stopped at the instore Subway outlet where we shared a foot-long Pulled Pork Sandwich.
Our next stop was Windsor Gas & Diesel. When we had the Safety and Emissions
tests done in May, Jim had failed to charge us for the Emissions test. He doesn’t
do the test on site so when his accountant asked why he was paying for it he
had to correct the mistake. Besides we’d rather pay for the test and keep a
reliable mechanic that we can trust available.
We then stopped at Guardian Storage where we first gathered our mail and then we went to our Climate
Controlled Storage Unit to do some shopping. Since we had stockpiled toiletries and
other things while in the apartment, the first place we go to shop is our
storage unit. We are starting to use up many things that we’ll have to start
buying at a store.
We drove over to Princess Auto looking for the special connectors I need to finish rewiring
our Pinbox. They only carried those
connectors in a huge kit of which I already have everything else. We then went
to Electrozad where I ran in to the same problem.
We finally went to Walmart where we scratched three necessities off our list. We also
stopped at the instore McDonalds where we shared a pop for a
dollar. A stop at the Tecumseh Home Hardware
Building Center yielded the connectors I was looking for as well as a tree ornament
that should keep the birds from building their nests in nearby trees.
One more stop at the Zehrs grocery store proved to be the costliest stop of the day as Kathy
needed to replenish a lot of the food stocks we had been using up.
Now the trip Home should have been a simple
drive up Manning Road but that didn’t happen. When we reached County Road 42,
Manning Road was blocked off by the police. Luckily in the last year I’ve been
travelling a lot of the back roads and was able to get us home in time to watch
the 6 o’clock News where they
explained about a bad accident closing Manning Road. We saw some black clouds in the distance but
no rain fell at the park. The weather guessers are still saying there is an
overnight chance of rain. Who Knows?
In answer to a comment we are only
staying in Ontario for the summer this year while we get
things repaired on the truck and trailer. For three years we went to Florida as Snowbirds
escaping the winter weather experienced in our region. We have travelled to the
U.S. southwest during the heat of the summer
but this coming fall we will be heading to Nashville before heading west as Snowbirds. We plan to reach Arizona and California before returning through New Mexico to Texas then to New Orleans. We like to explore and may not see everything the first
time through an area so we’ll probably be heading back there for a number of
years.
As for our present location this allows
us to be close to our families and family doctors. As long as our health allows
we’ll continue living as Fulltime RVers.
Thanks for following along and feel free to
leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about time.
